Have self-compassion in instances of perceived inadequacy, failure, or general suffering. Empathy for self includes practicing self-kindness. Inner healing has to be a part of your wellness journey with thyroid disease. Stress can exacerbate your symptoms and undermine your physical healing efforts. Be patient with yourself as you move forward in choosing health and wellness.

Certain supplements can impact absorption of thyroid medication and can impact TSH thyroid stimulating hormone levels in testing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🖤Iron and calcium can block absorption⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🖤 Biotin can lower levels ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🖤green food supplements can cause goitrogenic reactions which inhibit synthesis of thyroid hormones, possibly resulting in enlargement of the gland (goiter). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thyroid medication can also inhibit/deplete certain nutrients like calcium. It is important to take thyroid medications hours apart from eating, some find it helps to take this medication at night to avoid interuptions: ⬇️decrease chances of coffee and breakfast interfering with absorption⬇️decrease chances of supplements impacting absorption. Also bowel motility will slow at night, allowing better absorption which can help improve symptoms. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🖤🖤🖤Loving my beautiful mudcloth made in Senegal transported to Ghana which I got from just in time for my new space. It was like a big hug arriving,  I love it so much! Clearing out stuck energy, starting fresh,  and making room for what's meaningful and brings joy has been an integral part of my self love and healing journey. I have gained so many valuable tools in taking care of me, building my healing energy, and facing fears. Healing Inner Child has been so transformative! Staying well is a continual path of learning what works for you, looking inward, and taking care of mind, body, and spirit. Remind yourself you are amazing! no matter what you have gone through, you can start to build on the fact it happened for you, not only to you. You can change how you think, what you tell yourself about events/mistakes/disappointments etc, and move forward confidently.  Never stop getting better💕

🖤Studies show constantly warning against the negative effects of stress can reinforce an unhelpful mindset that stress is debilitating. Seeing stress as a facilitator of growth, planning a response that allows yourself grace and self care, seeing yourself as able to thrive despite inevitable stressors and work through them is actually beneficial to your health. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🖤Emphasis on only the health properties of eating vegetables and whole foods can lead to a counterproductive mindset that healthy eating is depriving.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Instead focus on reinforcing positive beliefs about flavor, presentation, feeling good/satisfied , and thinking of eating healthy as treating yourself and loving your body.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🖤Thinking of exercise as a dreaded task, too difficult, or anticipating feeling too ( weak/tired/busy) can be self defeating. Thinking of what small steps you can take, how to modify a task to what you can do in the now, how empowered and energized you can feel by working within your tolerance at the time, acknowledging yourself and seeing yourself as capable of smaller steps in the short term can really help you start somewhere. So many times when we begin from an empowered mind we surpass our own expectations and feel so much better having done so. Don't let your thoughts limit you!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

❤a compromised thyroid gland will slow the removal of insulin from the bloodstream.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

-Adrenal hormones, thyroid hormones and hormones of the pancreas (insulin and glucagon), work together to regulate metabolism.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-When insulin, thyroid hormones, or the steroid hormones of the adrenal gland are off-balance, the others often increase or decrease as a means of compensating for the metabolic dysfunction. This interaction leads to the correlation between thyroid disease and diabetes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🖤Thyroid disorders can cause menstruation to occur abnormally early or late. In addition, abnormally high or low levels of thyroid hormone can cause very light or very heavy menstrual periods, very irregular menstrual periods, or absent menstrual periods. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🖤Thyroid disorders may prevent ovulation from occurring and ovaries are at an increased risk for cyst development if the woman has an underactive thyroid. Severe hypothyroidism can actually cause milk production in the breast, while preventing ovulation.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🖤Thyroid disorders during pregnancy can cause risk to the baby and may lead to thyroid problems postpartum thyroiditis. A deficiency of thyroid hormone is can be linked to miscarriages, preterm delivery, stillbirth, and postpartum hemorrhage. Women with overactive thyroid during pregnancy are at risk of having more severe morning sickness. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🖤Thyroid disorders may cause the early onset of menopause (before age 40 or in the early 40s). Also the relationship between estrogen and thyroid is an essential element of your endocrine system. During perimenopause, when progesterone levels are significantly decreased but estrogen is still present, estrogen dominance can impact thyroid health by stopping the conversion of T4 into T3 thyroid hormone which leads to low T3 levels. This means even if there is not a direct issue with the thyroid, symptoms of hypothyroidism will be experienced. Too much estrogen can also block the uptake of thyroid hormones.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
