🚨 URGENT ACTION ALERT 🚨 We need your immediate action! We just received a copy of the House’s substitute for Senate Bill 8. The sub offers concessions to secure support for a voucher system.

From what we can tell, they are rushing this through and will vote on it tomorrow morning, without any public testimony, and before most of us are even able to get our children off to school.

Texas PTA believes Senate Bill 8 will hurt children who attend our already underfunded public schools. As such, we oppose legislation that authorizes state funds to be used to pay for private school tuition and related costs.

🗣‼️ Please CALL every House Public Education Committee member below. Don't wait for office hours! Call now and leave a message. Simply state your name, say you are with Texas PTA ask them to VOTE NO to SB 8 and all voucher bills. Each call will take less than 30 seconds.

Then email and tweet your own Representative to remind the entire body we oppose vouchers of any kind.

Did you know that Texas PTA offers not only a Senior Scholarship, but a Faculty Scholarship as well?!

Each year, Texas PTA awards $1,000 towards college to a group of eligible high school seniors and up to $500 to a group of eligible faculty members for continuing education. Scholarship applications are currently open and scheduled to close on November 15th. Don’t miss your chance to apply!
