A little data search reveals we have not had a reading in the 40s so far this winter. The typical first 40 degree reading is December 27th. A strong front moves in late Sunday and promises to lower the temps enough... into the upper 40s on Tuesday.
Warm weekend but beware if going to the beach. A high risk of rip currents will be present on Saturday.
Highs and Lows for the next 7 days. Possible record heat on Sunday before a strong front moves in. Much of next week will see lows in the 50s, except for Tuesday morning when we could bottom out in the upper 40s.
Subtropical Jet is keeping So FL with above avg temps. But by the weekend the Polar Jet pushes cold air our way. We could see lows in the 50s for much of next week.
Lots of clouds kept temps from reaching the 80s on Thursday. More heat in store for the weekend before a cold front moves in.
Temps will continue to warm with possible record highs this weekend. The lows will go from the low 70s down to the 50s as a cold front arrives by late Sunday / Early Monday.
The threat of Rip Currents will remain HIGH for the rest of Thursday, and elevated thru the weekend.

Big Southern Mess: Tonight both branches of the jet stream are pulling plenty of moisture inland. Add to that an area of low pressure and a trailing front and you have the recipe for very heavy downpours that will lead to flooding. In the long run the cold front is forecast to arrive in So. Lunar Lovers! The first full moon of the year peaks Thursday. It's known as the "Wolf Moon" because in olden times, folks would hear wolves howling during the first full mon of the year.
As temperatures continue to rise across South Florida, Miami could flirt with record heat Thursday.
Big Panel View of Florida. The subtropical branch of the jet stream is over the center part of the state. It will keep us with, in and out clouds and allowing warmer temps to move in thru the weekend.
Average high for January is 76°. We've had plenty of 80s this month including the last two days. It will continue to heat up thru the weekend until a front arrive by next Monday.
By the weekend, the Polar Branch of the Jet stream moves south dragging cold air. The leading edge will be by North FL on Sunday. If it doesn't weaken we could see chilly lows by the early next week.
Sub Tropical Branch of the jet stream lifted north keeping all the rain, snow, & ice away from So. FL. Our region will continue to warm up and stay breezy, under mostly cloudy skies.
Typical lows this time of year hover between 61° & 65°. The subtropical branch of the jet stream will flow from the Gulf of Mexico keeping us mostly cloudy and with warming temps on Tuesday. The highs will reach the mid 80s by the end of the week.

A warming trend moves into South Florida after a quick chill on Sunday morning.
The wind will remain strong the rest of Tuesday with a slight decrease for Wed & Thurs, but still on the breezy side.
The wind is picking up and causing issues for boaters and beach goers alike.
Monday morning lows were in the typical range. This comes after a cold start to Sunday w temps in the upper 40s and 50s.
The quick weekend chill is gone. Tuesday morning will see temps in the 60's and 70s.
Weekend Forecast: A cold front arrives overnight but it really wont be until Saturday afternoon that we start to feel the chill. The wind will pick up making those temperatures feel colder. By Sunday morning you'll be waking up to temps in the Low to Mid 50s. The feels like temp could be near 50°
Weather headlines for this weekend
Sunday morning will be the coldest this weekend. Widespread 50s for the Keys, low to mid 50s for the Mainland with an occasional upper 40s reading in the western suburbs.
Strong cold front on the move. Should arrive across So FL overnight. These are the advisories for north FL and the Panhandle after the passage of the front there.
Saturday night to Sunday morning will be the coldest time frame this weekend. Widespread 50s from Broward south into the Keys. Models are backing off wind chills in the 40s, but it will be windy so stay aware.
