I’m Sandra 👋🏽 the owner, dueña, creator, jefa of Cositas Contreras & co-owner of .sj 💕 I am also a mother of two mini CEOs, L is 6 and S is 7 👫🏽🫶🏼

Although my human babies are a little older, Cositas Contreras is 3.5 & my newest baby .sj been open for a month today 🥲

I started CC in Jan 2021 with resin art and over time grew into specializing with real pressed florals in all pieces & eventually adding in embroidery at the end of 2023. Throughout time I added other cositas like stickers, jewelry, candles all from other latina/o owned businesses & making my booth a mini boutique & one stop shop.

As of May 2024, .sj was born & now carries over 25+ latina/o owned businesses alongside my handmade products as well 🫶🏼

To all my returning customers this weekend, it was so nice to see all the familiar faces & to all the new faces, it was so nice to meet you guys 🥹 I hope you are all able to shop by the tiendita soon 💕

As always, THANK YOU to everyone who chooses to support me & allowing me to do what I love while providing for myself and my babies.

3.5 years ago I started something as a hobby for myself to learn a skill and create an artistic outlet. I was lost as a mom of two, working full time & felt like I had nothing to do or look forward to for myself. That hobby quickly turned into a side gig & kind of took off.

Two years ago I did an event for the first time in San Jose where I sold out of inventory & hit sales numbers I had never hit before. That showed me that I had what it takes to peruse my little side gig, full time. Since then, I’ve gone back more than several times & have built such a supportive community in SJ on top of some amazing friendships.

A storefront is something I knew I wanted for Cositas Contreras but realistically didn’t know when it would happen for me. I am SO honored to have been a part of this with .sj in making my small business dreams come true 🙌🏽

To my amazing business partners & .imports, I can’t wait to watch us grow in this next step in our journey.

53 hours worked in the last three days.. on top of prep, pouring, embroidering, deliveries, pick ups. This last month has been
n o n s t o p.

I honestly have never felt so exhausted. I definitely pushed it this year on how much I could handle by overbooking myself. 12 almost sold out events in 3 weeks is WILD for a handmade maker & had me working around the clock every single day. But looking at these little faces & making sure we are set up to take some time off in January comfortably, is worth every long night & early morning.
