A fellow HR professional recently faced baseless allegations of unprofessional conduct and was unfortunately terminated without a chance to disprove them. It's concerning when organizations prioritize potential legal issues over protecting their own employees and conducting thorough investigations. We need to demand fair treatment for ALL employees, including our human resources professionals and due process in the workplace. I encourage everyone to stand up for what's right. I greatly appreciate my HR community for moments like these because when you feel like no one else has your back, we can heavily lean in on each other.

Please remember HR has a ❤️ too!

Many of us deal with situations that are not easily navigable or that are uncomfortable for us too!

Just because we’re helping a manager talk through a termination or dealing with a rogue supervisor who’s advising employees to complete their timesheet in a way that doesn’t coincide with company policy or we’re asked to advise the leadership team on specific questions outside of our wheelhouse, doesn’t mean we should be held to an unrealistic standard of having the answers or knowledge about everything instantly!

Remember, you HR professional, yes I’m talking to YOU, you don’t need to have all the answers at all times, we’re humans too!

We should take time to ask more questions, reach out to experts in that field like benefits brokers, WC adjusters, other HR colleagues you can trust, and learn together!

When you get multiple suggestions, opinions, and expert guidance that’s where you begin to take your career to another level.

As HR professionals we give a lot of ourselves to so many layers within organizations and it’s important for YOU to remember that YOU got this no matter how stressed, burned out, defeated, sad, heartbroken you may feel after a rough week.

We’re in this together and will support each other through the tough situations, embarrassing mistakes, imposter syndrome, or anytime you’re not feeling like 100% YOU!
