Joe Sontich for Judge
Joe Sontich for Portage Municipal Court Judge
I want everyone to know that I was able to speak with Judge Fankhauser last night to extend my congratulations and best wishes for his upcoming third term in office. I also extend my congratulations to Judge Poland upon his reelection.
I truly enjoyed my experience throughout the campaign which would not have been possible without the assistance and encouragement of so many of you.
To all my new friends and acquaintances, I am letting you know now that I am not going away and I look forward to seeing you sooner rather than later. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if I may be of some assistance to you.
In closing for the moment, I remain very truly yours.
As the election day polls will now open at 6:30 a.m., I first wish to thank all who in some measure helped my campaign. I will address that in more detail after the election regardless of the outcome.
I next wish to thank the seemingly countless people who listened to what I had to say about why I was running and who in turn trusted me to share what was on their minds about those matters as well as other matters important to them. For me it has been quite a journey considering all the events and circumstances, particularly during my door to door canvassing which began in July here in Aurora and which continued though yesterday when we finished up with significant portions of Mantua village. In this regard I emphasize "we" because that could not have been accomplished (distributing more than 9000 door hangers while canvassing) without the help of a dedicated group of volunteer canvassers, some of whom have been long time friends and others who I met during the course of the campaign. The ideas I presented particularly pertaining to drug abuse, human trafficking and veterans problems in the court system have never been my original ideas but rather have evolved from what I have learned in more recent times dating back to even before I decided to run. I believe these issues will continue to be important regardless of today's outcome. Related programs and even specialty courts have been proven to work in municipal courts in Ohio.
Next I wish to thank my wife Susan and my daughter Joy who have lived with this since the beginning. Joy is a peer counselor for people in recovery and she has taught me very much in this regard. Susan will be with me as we leave to vote in a few minutes here in Aurora.
Finally for the moment, I wish to thank all of you who voted and who will vote today. You all know how important it is to vote and I am guessing you do not need any further explanation from me. Enjoy what promises to be a beautiful fall day here in Portage County. Please feel free to say Hi if you see me around today and thank you for considering me worthy of your vote if you have chosen or will chose to do so.
Dogs for Sontich!
The Portager ad went live this week
Another beautiful day putting up signs.
Thanks for your help Ed Dean!
Seen today in the wilds of Portage County...
4x8 foot signs are in!
If you or someone you know would like a sign on your property, please comment below, send a Facebook message or click on the link to send an email.
You provide the space and we do the rest!
Hoping to see many of you at tonight's Aurora home game against Copley.
Recently I was invited to meet board members of VALOR Retreat whose mission is "to provide a free, recreational facility for combat veterans, their families and our Gold Star families in a tranquil environment to recover from the ravages of conflict, to heal and reconnect with nature, their families, and one another."
I was humbled by their dedication and devotion to meeting a critical need for those who have served and their families. My wife lost her father, an Army intelligence officer, at age seven so Gold Star families are close to our hearts.

Yesterday was a beautiful day to canvass.
More of the same today.
Last week at the Randolph (Portage County) Fair.
It was an interesting and fun week.
I bought 1/2 a hog at the Junior 4-H Livestock Auction!
Thanks to all who heard me out about my campaign and for sharing their personal stories of fortitude, decency and selflessness.
