SAUER Racing Team

That’s it for this season. Our little race team will be parked up while our engine (baby girl) goes back to Kre for a refresh (the poor girl is 5 years old and is going back for the first one😢) We have competed in 3 races this season at Toowoomba speedway and made the show each time. The first one we were a bit tight and broke a rib and the second night we hit everything bar the ambulance so we parked it. Last night we had the car and the driver just unlucky. Thanks to everyone for the support along the way.

Tomorrow it’s Daddy turn to have a skid in his 410 Sprintcar.

Ambrose made it all come together and won the cadet 9 A main event .

To make his victory even sweeter his little brother Rusty finished on the podium in p3.

After a brief break from racing the boys both left nothing on the table in the final race at Lismore Kart Club for the 2023 season.

Both boys raced really fast to finish in p2-p3 respectively.

Today, both the boys will racing, two heats and a final in the cadet 9 class.

This Saturday the boys will be racing at the Lismore Kart Club.

Both Ambrose and Rusty are keen as ever after having a brake from racing and along with crew chief Kim and Mick, the whole Sauer Family Racing Team will be doing all they can to park both karts in victory lane.

For a little bit of extra spice Lismore Speedway commentator,Josh Boyd and v8 Dirtmodified driver Riley Smith have joined the team and will race in the 4 bangers.

Ambrose final got off to a very exciting start with the front to kart’s, coming together in the hairpin, as a result putting in and do that race,.

As a result it put Ambrose from P4, into P2 but as the karts came through the top pimple, the race was sent to restart due to an issue at the start of the race on the first attempt.

Ambrose had to do it all again and to his credit he do coming back from P6 to finish a strong P4.

Well done to both boys and the team on a great weekend of racing.

Wow what a great race, from a 4th place start Ambrose hustling his way through the field to finish in a strong P2.
Both the boys are on the pace this morning here at LISMORE.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

Heat 4 pre final, Rusty started on pole and made the most of it with a very strong win.

Heat 3 results.

Just like Rusty before him Ambrose got off to a good start but would eventually end up finishing 4th.

Heat three results.

Rusty got away to an early lead, but with about two laps to go he ran wide at the hairpin resulting in a P3 finish.

Heat 2 for Ambrose.

Ambrose got off to a good start, moving up a spot before turn two , but eventually he slipped back to P4 and finished in fourth. 


Congratulations Rusty, picking up the win in heat 2.

Rusty started from position two and was never headed.

Ambrose, started in P4 and finished in P4. The place was really on at the front of the field.

Ambrose just qualified in P4.

The boys are on track this morning and are hopefully ready for a big two days of racing.

This weekend the team are racing at the Lismore Kart Club in the Wynnum Haulage Motorsports 2023 Young Guns event.

Ambrose will be racing in the Cadet 9 and Rusty will be racing in the Cadet 9, P plates.

I'll do my best to keep this page up to date with photos and results through the weekend.

Rusty awarded a trophy for his first race meeting..

The 15 lap final results.

Both boys got off to a good start going into turn one, as the race settle down into a bit of a rhythm.

Ambrose got up to P2 before coming unstuck when he went a little bit too wide coming down the hill resulting in a DNF .

Russ held his nerve in the final few laps to finish the race in a solid P4 not bad for his first ever race meeting.

Wow at the start of the race Rusty Went from P5 to P1 entering the first corner but found himself eventually sliding back to P5.
Ambrose raced really hard and came home in a strong second position. 

The all important 15 lap Final is coming up soon, can both boys finish on the podium……

Heats 2 results.

After a strong start both Ambrose and Rusty settled down into a rhythm and raced really hard in the end.
The boys finished fourth and fifth respectively. 

Lismore Kart Club is located on the edge of town so come over and have a look.
