The Board and Management of SLiFF wishes all Women, a happy International Women’s Day.

This year SLiFF has cancelled our annual Mother's Day BBQ due to the losses of close family members of our Board and SLiFF Members.

We will instead spend the time reflecting.

Our thoughts are with the grieving families. May their Souls rest in eternal peace.

From the 15th - 21st of March 2023 it is ! This encompasses United Nations Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Board wishes everyone a harmonious week and to quote a legend -

Lesley has a Master's Degree in Counseling, a Grad.Dip in Family Relationships Dispute Resolution Practitioner and a Social Science graduate from Curtin University, with a double Major in Politics and Sociology. She is an author and Public Speaker, a proud mother and grandmother.

From a young age Lesley showed a passion for human rights and advocacy. This is best demonstrated by her over 20 years of work in government and not for profit sectors, working with people with disabilities, mental health and marginalised people. She also has extensive work with multicultural communities, in particular as the first female President of The African Community WA (ACWA).

My apologies for posting outside of business hours. I was a little under the weather and for important updates I was using a new emailing service. Some participants for our fashion show (The Worlds Greatest Fashion Show) seem to have not received the updates.

The show was scheduled for the 10th September 2022, but we sent out a notification that it had been postponed to early next year due to more and more designers requesting more time. I kindly request you give us until the end of September to provide the new date and sort out the error with email notifications.

The Silver Lining Fashion Fund Inc. is a charity that utilises the resources of the fashion industry to raise funds for CaLD community support services.

Lesley Akora and Azulant Akora of SLiFF.Inc received a grant for their initiative: African Women's Life Skills Project – as part of the Grants for Women Program.

It was great to attend their northern suburbs workshop recently, which provided local women with strategies for dealing with technology, safety, schooling, and parenting.

Happy Birthday to our Manager and Inaugural inductee to WA Women's Hall of Fame 2011 Mrs. Lesley Emma Akora.
