Scarlet is all dressed up for DogFest North Central 2021!
Gather your family, friends, and Canine friends and join us this Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at our North Central Training Center in New Albany.
It’s an event to benefit Canine Companions! It’ll be a day full of activities, crafts for kids, dog demonstrations, music, speakers, and more!

What a beautiful view.
Canine Companions pup Scarlet had her first time on a boat. She practicing walking on docks, jumping in and out of the boat, and other commands during her time at the lake.
She's been working hard!

Beautiful weather for a lake day!
Scarlet recently traveled to South Carolina to spend a week at Lake Keowee. She practiced commands at the lake house, which helped her practice the skills in a different environment.

Over the weekend, Canine Companions puppy Scarlet was at Picnic with the Pops, at the Columbus Commons!
Scarlet did a terrific job with the big crowd, music and with meeting many wonderful people! She watched as people gathered with their picnic baskets to see entertainers perform with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
A few other Canine Companions puppies joined her for a fun night. 🎼🎻

Yesterday, Canine Companions puppy Scarlet, visited the North Central Regional Training Center in New Albany! She even practiced a few commands while there, including visit and lap!

Today I took a field trip to Petco! I got to practice lots of different commands as well as work on my impulse control. I am quite good at impulse control! Plus I know if I'm a good girl I get lots of treats! NBC4 Canine Companions for Independence
Does anyone know what I am working on here, other than showing off how well I shake? This is called proofing. Once I have a command down my puppy raiser starts working with me on proofing that command. I've been asked to sit. That means no matter where my puppy raiser walks or if she moves my leash that I need to stay in that sit until she tells me I can get up. I think I have sit-proofed like a pro! Getting in some Saturday practice :-) these commands are "up" and "off." that means that I put my two front feet on whatever surface I'm asked to. Off means I get my two front feet off of that surface. I should keep my feet up on whatever surface they're on until I am told off. I have this mastered! NBC4 Canine Companions for Independence

Do you know what this command is called? It is called "up." When my puppy raiser tells me "up," it's my job to put my two front feet on the surface in front of me. I then stay like that until my puppy raiser tells me "off." I think I have this down! NBC4 Canine Companions for Independence

I had lots of fun practice my commands today on all kinds of surfaces! it is very important for a future assistance dog to be able to do their commands wherever they are asked.
