We hate waiting for food too. You might have to wait a little for our BBQ, but at least it will be worth it!

Meet Ella:

Ella was named in honor of the beautiful and amazingly talented American Jazz singer, Ella Fitzgerald. She (the smoker, not Ms. Fitzgerald) was born in October of 2020 in Houston, Texas. She is 13 ft long. 6-feet-tall and 5.5 feet wide and weighs in at 3,500 lbs. Custom built for Bayou Blues BBQ, Ella captured the hearts of Matt and Zach right away. She has proven herself capable of smoking ribs, pork, beef brisket and sausage, and we hope she has a long and fruitful life with us.

Meet Zach Ward:

Zach was born and raised in Cypress, Texas, attending a local high school. Zach’s desire to serve his community has led to a career as a Firefighter and EMS for the past 18 years. While always a fan of BBQ, Zach has recently been perfecting his skills with the smoker. He and his wife, Jessica, along with their two children, live and work in the Cypress area, and enjoy supporting the community through various service activities. When not working, Zach loves to travel with his family whenever possible.

Meet Matthew Utter:

Matt was born in the suburbs of New Orleans and raised in Vicksburg, Mississippi, where his love for good food, namely BBQ first began. Matt moved to Texas to attend Texas Christian University, and married his high school sweetheart, Alisha, soon after. Matt has been teaching in Cy-Fair ISD as a Band Director for the past 14 years. Matt and Alisha, along with their two children, are strongly rooted in the Cypress area through their work in the school district, participation in their church, and support of other area non-profit organizations.
