My friend Chris made this amazing acrylic mirror engraved panel for a very special couple. I built the walnut picture frame to trim the panel out.

First project of 2023.

This is the first time I’m cutting a design at the bottom of the tray 😅

I’m trying to use the cnc to it’s fullest, with a roughing pass to clear out a large amount of the pocket on this tray quickly. The finishing pass cleans up all the rough parts left over at the bottom of the tray where I don’t have to sand at all. Silky smooth

This is the first time using my Astra Coated* Bits&Bits 425-VG60 – 60 Degree 2 Flute V-Groove. The bit cut was so clean and the recommended setting worked great. I’ll have to pick up a couple more carving bits from to try out.

I’ve been thinking of making these for a while wondering if anyone would have interest in these custom signs. They make great Christmas Gifts this year! 🎅 🎄
I have most sport designs as well as women’s sports. 🏀 🏈 ⚽️ 🏒
These signs are roughly 15H x 11W and made from a 1/4 maple plywood painted white back panel with a black acrylic body design with name and number. Lots of different options with no backer, team colors and custom sizes.

I was able to cut the pocket but it left some ridges because my step over was set to 40% which is standard. I figured out that if I decrease my step over to 15% I can get a clean pocket with no sanding. Profile cut is next and I’m hoping it holds together and tabs don’t explode!

First time cutting some small trays and using the bowl/tray bit.
Using this bowl/tray bit from 1372 looks extremely intimidating. I had to add this bit to Easel to setup the right feeds and speeds. Wish me luck 🤞🏼

Success came with a price, but it was worth it.
After almost messing up the full board with a tab coming loose I was able to salvage the rest of my bottle opener files. If your in the market for some bottle openers, I’ve got 7 different design files for your CNC with the insert hardware cut. I take the guessing out of it with detailed depth measurements and where I get the bottle opener inserts.

Just over a month ago I gave this chair building a stab. They say a chair is one of the “rites of passage” for a woodworker, and they weren’t wrong. This project is far from perfect but for me just to sit down on it really makes me feel good.
I look up to a lot of you guys and gals on here and really love the inspiration. Two designers that I regularly watch on the tube are foureyes furniture and william douglas co. I took inspiration from Chris’s Longview Chair because of the long profile of the legs and William’s seat and back rest design because it looks and feels amazing over just building a couple of flat pieces. I feel like if Chris and William’s chair were to spawn a chair this would be it. 😂

I’ve trimmed out the parts with my MDF template and started on the seat and back rest. My next steps will be cutting everything to final size and sanding.
