As we approach the school summer holidays; many look to (and rightly) consider a summer break. For some of us it is our busiest time and another opportunity to gain success and for development.

I saw this recently and thought to share. Some of us know the answer to this very early in our lives; others can spend years or an entire lifetime searching for it…
What I do know is that we all have things that we enjoy and are passionate about. It may not be a gift but the two go hand in hand. Who is there to tell us that we are not at a level that we can define as adequate.
Absolutely love that quote from Picasso and would urge everyone to follow your dreams/passions. Don’t let others tell you it is not possible. It may not be possible for them. You are unique.

There are so many ways of approaching mental health and as this week begins; this is the first in a series of messages of positivity I’d like to share.
For me; whether the person in question or those in their lives; be it loved ones, friends, colleagues, partners, family member or even those you see every so often (say mail person)…key thing is that we start to recognise a situation and “speak up.”
NOT THAT EASILY DONE. Why not reach out to someone that you think could do with a hello.

Almost all of us will have someone we can think of that have made us laugh. Whet it was back in school. The school comedian/the classmate that perhaps tormented the teacher.
Comedians themselves…ever wondered how tough things are for them and the expectations on them.
Personalities we see on screen/radio/live who make us laugh.
Family members/our children and loved ones or perhaps you haven’t quite been able to tell them yet.
I’ve said it before how powerful art can be. How one piece can be relevant to so many situations.

It’s amazing what key things you remember. I feel fortunate/privileged that I believe I have a great memory. Over the years many things have shaped/had an influence on my views, direction in life and so on.
Art is my biggest passion and I still remember being told by my art teacher about and her work and how I could use her work for inspiration in my then A-level art. The self portrait as a tree has stuck with me ever since and I always try to capture an image that reminds me of that. This was a view on my run today.

Later today; I’m going to go live with a brief overview of work I’m doing towards mental health week that is just around the corner. A massive topic for me and something I’m super passionate about given my own experiences.
We all need help at some point and laughter is amazing medicine. To many it is a day to day occurrence but for some; it is incredibly tough. I remember watching patch adams and absolutely loved the message within that film.
