I am always overwhelmed with such conflicting feelings when I have to ship out my critters.

I’m happy they are going to a new home that’ll love on them…

But I’m sad to see them go.

Hello there!

Kenobi premieres tonight 🤩 and I got my Obi-Wan doll here celebrating with me.

But in other news and I am significantly behind in orders and have to apologize.

We’ve had a family medical emergency and it’s pulled me away from my yarn but hopefully, it’s sorted out over the next couple of days and I can get everything situated.

Channeling my inner super hero to face this Monday morning… because for the next 7 days I’m giving up caffeine 😬

And I need something super to help everyone around me survive.

It’s been a busy weekend for us but I still managed to finish up this special girl just in time for the lunar eclipse.

**It seemed too fitting not to share***

Yesterday, I mentioned my obsession with Starbucks ☕️

I’m also obsessed with dressing up my Starbucks cups 🙈🙈🙈

Nolan says I’m extra 🙄 I say my Starbucks cups are just bougee.

Did you know…

During the Irish Potato Famine people in Ireland learned to crochet intricate pieces and for some, this became their only source of income.

Without this form of art, many wouldn’t have survived that difficult time.

Today, I use crochet as a way to give my kids a comfortable lifestyle.

Profits from my crochet projects go towards things like baseball equipment, cheer fees, and family nights out.

Lately, project profits have been funding outdoor summer fun and s’mores around the fire.

In the name of the moon, I’ll punish you 🌙

I gave up soda a little over a month ago. And although I’ve never been a coffee drinker, without 6 cans of Diet Pepsi a day I find myself craving coffee.

Or at least what I call coffee— Mocha Java Frappuccino at Starbucks.

But I kid you not, the Starbucks closest to me never gets my order right. Sometimes, I get a double chocolate chip frap or a cookie crumble—and it’s just not the same.

Since, I’m starting work on a Sailor Moon doll this morning, I couldn’t help but mumble her catchphrase under my breath when they, yet again, handed me the wrong Frappuccino.

What’s your favorite Starbucks drink? Now that I’m a coffee drinker, any ideas for some I should try?

Happy Mother’s Day!

Who is my favorite Avenger? Why, Captain America, of course!

05/05/2022

Are you a Marvel fan?

Fan is probably an understatement for me. I’m a cosplaying, comic book reading, super mega fanatic.

And I’ve been so blessed with boys who love the fandom as much as I do.

Today, you will find me and my boys at the premiere of Doctor Strange because it’s just what we do.

If you are a Marvel fan, tell me who your favorite hero is in the comments.

I’ll share mine with you later on.

Always wear your seatbelt—even if you are full of stuffing instead of bones. 💚

Happy Star Wars day. ⭐️

May the force be with you!

Taking a break from crochet orders today for a little home project.

Stay tuned to see what we are doing in here.

Happy 1st of May! 🌸

This is my favorite month—because it’s my birth month.

But also because Justin Timberlake seems to enjoy it, and he was my favorite member of *NSYNC.

Tell me, who was your favorite boy ba**er? Was it. Backstreet Boy or a New Kid on the Block?

About to dress this custom doll and sew on her hair while I tune in for Haley Nicole Denardi’s live sale in her group.

We had a busy weekend over here! 🌱

It was the first weekend Nolan had off that wasn’t cold, dark, or gloomy.

So, we spent it cleaning up our yard.

We tried to get our big kids to participate, but the little vampires were afraid of the sun.

The littles got outside and earned their keep, though.

Scroll through to see the before/afters. I’m quite impressed with my little fellas.

Now, we need a new wreath! Do you have a favorite wreath vendor? Tag them in the comments so I can check them out.

I need to replenish my yarn!

I checked my yarn closet last night and realized I’m running pretty low on a lot of colors 😬 I guess it’s time to go shopping.

Wanna try to guess my most popular color—the shade that I go through the most?

21/04/2022

When you were a kid what did you want to be when you grew up?

I was 4 years old when I started telling people that I’d be a best selling author.

But my backup plan was to open a toy store and sell whimsical boutique dolls. I pictured Santa’s workshop just instead of red and green it was pink and gold.

This giraffe reminds me of the toy store I dreamed up years and years ago.

20/04/2022

Do you love Harry Potter as much as I do?

(Or I guess we should call it the Wizarding World because this little guy isn’t technically from an HP movie)

I took my niffler to see The Secrets of Dumbledore last night and he thought it was so good! His favorite parts were all the scenes Jude Law was in… or at least they were my favorite parts. 🤤

Later today, Niffler — as he has been named — will get his house scarf, because it’s still cold in middle TN but first we need to sort him.

What Hogwarts should he be?

(And yes, the little rascal stole my earrings and put them in his little belly pouch. Silly Niffler!)

Do you have a favorite inspirational quote?

“Dreams don’t work unless you do,” has become my motto lately.

It’s my reminder to get up each day and put in the work for my goals.

What quotes move you?

Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. 🐰

I took a little time off because I needed a break after all those Easter dolls.

And now I’m ready to get to work on some custom orders. Can’t wait to show off the little doll I’m working on.

But in the meantime, y’all say hey to Miss Buttercup. I’ve been on a farm animal kick lately so don’t be surprised if you see a lot more cows in the future.

So many bunnies hopping into new homes this week. 🐰

Pretty in pink🌸💕

These little critters are dressed in their best for the weekend festivities.

Some bunnies are getting ready for the big event tonight. 🐰🐰

01/04/2022

Can we talk about this weather?

It’s April 1st AND it’s 45 degrees in middle Tennessee!

This is unreal… but on the bright side of things I have longer to work on my summer body 😉

Hello! With all the new faces around here I think maybe I should reintroduce myself.

🌟I’m Christina— a 30 something year old mother of 7 living in middle TN

🌟I started crocheting 11 years ago when my son was in the ICU for 73 days. It was something I could focus on to help deal with the stress.

🌟After a few months of posting things I was making on Facebook, people started messaging me asking me to make them custom orders.

🌟I had a craft business making military themed baby blankets and tutus that my crochet dolls soon took over.

🌟I changed my business name twice over the last decade as my life changed and a new brand was better suited.

🌟On average I make 200 dolls a year.

🌟I also read close to 100 books in that same time frame.

🌟 I’m a published writer. I’m Disney obsessed! And I have a soft spot for rodents.

🌟I’m a huge advocate for epilepsy and muscular dystrophy because my son, Jake, was diagnosed with both in 2015

🌟And my son, Nathan, (the one who spent 73 days in the ICU) passed away in 2012 after battling epilepsy and MD for almost 2 years.

I don’t make cute, little crochet dolls to pay the bills—although you guys have helped send my kids on vacation many times. I do this because of Nathan.

I cope with his loss by bringing these little yarn critters to life and I find joy in knowing their sweet faces bring a smile to yours!

Tell me something interesting about you in the comments.

Was our Easter sale cutting it too close for you to plan out your baskets? 🐰

A few customers reached out and asked to see inside the adoption center a little bit early. They didn’t want to wait until the last minute to fill their Easter baskets.

And I agreed. April 8th was probably playing it too risky.

So, I’m going to get all the Easter themed items ready for adoption 5 days early!

Join us Sunday April 3rd at 7pm to see which bunnies and chicks are waiting to find a home in your Easter baskets this year.

And then join us for our Disney send off Spring Menagerie Adoption Event planned for April 20th!

28/03/2022

We’re going to Disney World! 👑

Jaime and I have a girls’ trip to Orlando planned next month and we are hosting a virtual craft fair on April 8th to help fund it. (Because you know we are going to be eating our weight in dole whips 🍭🍦🍬)

✨We will have games to play, performances by Matteo and Mason, and tons of crochet critters ready to ship just in time to fill those Easter baskets.

🥳Get out your ears, put on your pajamas, and send us off to the House of Mouse with a bang. It’s going to be a fun night of shopping and entertainment that you won’t want to miss.

I’ve been wanting to update our entryway for a while.

It just feels so blah and it’s the first thing people see when they enter our home.

I wanted something that felt more welcoming… more put together… and less “builder-grade”

So, today Nolan got to work.

Check back tomorrow to see the finished result.

🐰 I said hip hop the hippity to the hip hip hop 🐰

🐝 Be Happy!

That’s exactly what I decided to do when I recently made the decision to leave the rat race.

This right here is what brings me happiness—crocheting little critters for your home.

Life’s too short to be spent tired, miserable, and unfulfilled.

What brings you joy? Bonus points if you share a photo.

22/03/2022

Hey guys! Teo wants you all to keep an 👀 out because my February and March dolls will be available for adoption soon.

Don’t miss your chance for a fun yarn friend to fill those Easter baskets with.

01/01/2022

We had all these plans of putting Christmas away today but Mother Nature had other ideas.

So, we are inside today finishing up some fun boxes and watching the rain fall.

Photos from The Homemade Hexagon's post 01/01/2022

Last night I asked Nolan if he wanted to wake up early and go to the gym.

He said no that everyone would be at the gym today.

So then I was like….

If everyone is at the gym that means the ice cream shop won’t be busy 😉

And that’s why I have 30lbs to lose this year—while everyone else hit the gym, I was hitting up Baskin Robbins. 😩

If you are working on weight loss goals as well, we have custom weight loss trackers to help.

Can you believe it’s already time to start shopping for Valentine’s Day?

Do you and your significant other exchange gifts?

29/12/2021

Beanie drop tonight! I have 15 ready to customize and ship.

Looks like our woodworker is feeling inspired tonight.
