Many communities have crisis intervention team (CIT) programs that train police officers to handle and respond safely to psychiatric crisis calls but not every police officer is trained in a CIT program.
Should only trained police officers be sent? Should they be accompanied by mental health professionals or paramedics who are better trained for such situations?

Burnout is a state of complete mental, physical and emotional exhaustion. The culprit? Constant stress over a (long enough period) of time.

Some information about Panic Attacks. Try the following breathing exercise the next time you have a panic attack:
1. Breathe in as slowly through your nose, filling your lungs.
2. Breathe out slowly and gently through your mouth. You may find it helpful to count slowly, say from 1001 to 1005.

Fatigue refers to an overall feeling of tiredness or lack of energy. There are several different types and causes of fatigue and some need medical attention.
