In 2023 the US Census Bureau reported that about 4 million households with adults 65 and older had difficulty living in or using some features in their home. As our population ages it is imperative that we have affordable aging-ready homes. That's why we created the Comfort series. Big news! 🥳 California Gov. Gavin Newsom just signed Nancy Skinner’s SB 1211 into law on September 19. ✍️ This new law is a game changer for increasing housing density in California by allowing multifamily properties to add more ADUs.

It's official. The Fed announced an aggressive interest rate cut yesterday, larger than what many analysts expected. Here's what we're sharing with our customers:
- If you’re looking to finance an ADU project (single family home, multifamily project, and beyond), expect rates to start coming down in next weeks and months.
- We are in the most favorable interest rate environment that we’ve seen in years. We're already seeing a meaningful shift toward action among our clients and partners.
- While additional rate cuts are expected, nothing is certain. Waiting for the perfect moment to get off the sidelines could be risky.
A California law may soon make homeownership more attainable for some Americans. AB-1033 permits California property owners to build and sell Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) as separate entities, much like condos, independent of the main house. This law offers homeowners more flexibility in developing their properties and creates much-needed housing in urban areas. San Jose recently became the first California city to allow the law to take effect, with Berkeley potentially following suit.
