It’s hot and getting hotter. Time for our friendly reminder about hot pavement and dog paws. Paws don’t have superpowers. They aren’t indestructible. They burn. Remember the rule, if you can’t hold the back of your hand to the street, sidewalk or road for a full 7 seconds, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws. And do not leave dogs or children in parked cars. Not even with a window cracked. If you can’t remember that, you shouldn’t have them. It’s that simple.

Thanks to all our friends and family that have reached out to ask how this flooding in Waverly, Tennessee happened so quickly, what has been done, and what is needed. Rye Engineering’s business is water systems and leak detection & TAUD is our association of utility districts across the state and functions as a big family. We all know families and businesses affected (one of our employees lost a family member, friends lost loved ones, businesses, farms the list goes on). We will be finding leaks 24-7 and speaking at more upcoming conferences coming up … headed to Gatlinburg today and later this fall in Chattanooga, Milwaukee, and Dallas just to name a few!

My nose was on 🎯 helping the Anderson County Water Authority last week!
6” PVC Leak found by Gauge Rye
Leak was not audible with typical detectors due to constant road noise from I-75.
Leak was also in a swampy area of cow pasture on line running parallel to interstate about 10’ away from right of way fence.
John Mitchell, Assistant Manager said: “it was the perfect storm of conditions that made this leak so difficult to find. The interstate was loud, it was on PVC, and it was in a wet area. Gauge found the leak and we verified with a chlorine test.” Maybe my mom will post a video of me showing my dad the leak & me getting my favorite squeaker ball treat for a job well done. 🐾 🐕‍🦺

Work & play I’m a water dog all the way! A little post travel day swim at Cove Lake after our appointments in East Tennessee. Now time to get back to work finding more water leaks!

A year ago I had just started training in the paws in prison program.... who knew I would be the first ever privately owned leak detection dog for hire in North America! .... I’ve found my purpose in my Everyone deserves a chance to be the best they can be! Happy National Puppy Day!

Love is patient, love is kind.... love sometimes even causes us to bend and hello let’s be honest totally break the rules. 🐶😂🤷🏼‍♀️ Grateful for all the people who have love in their hearts for animals big and small, who take the time and make the space for animals who would otherwise have very short and unhappy lives. Did you know... I’m a rescue that is not only loved, but oh so happy! Not just happy, but living out his purpose! Thankful for my and my trainers in Arkansas and who loved me first! Got my things unpacked and getting the lay of the land with my new mom & dad this week. I’m learning their voices & and they’re learning mine! My trainer has trained them and we are loving finding those leaks together! When I see my harness I get excited because I know it’s time to put my nose to the ground- I 🧡 my job! Bonus points... they let me ride in the middle, they give yummy treats, and really good hugs too! @ Tennessee
