Sus4 Project

In the last decade, the use of energy and especially electricity tends to grow and the perspective is to further increase the next 10-15 years due to electrical cars and digitalization. Many projects have attempted to look for sustainable solutions to the use of energy (NEXUS). However, most of the solutions are difficult to be directly correlated with many business cases and need high levels of expertise to be used. However, small & medium manufacturers are not capable of doing employing experts. Thus, there is need for: 1) well-designed simulation solution (Digital Twin) that is also used for optimization of the energy and electricity use based on real-time and historical data; 2) AI-based tools that will allow production relevant optimization. The main idea of this project is to develop an Artificial Intelligence-based digital twin for energy optimization and production planning of manufacturing companies. The solution will be validated by two use-cases in Italy and Lithuania.

SUS4 project aims at implementing and commercializing of a framework and the relevant digital twins for: 1) energy/electricity use optimization and 2) production planning & optimization of factories. The supporting software platforms will integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms that will be able to use real-time, near-real-time, and historical data for the use of resources by companies and production lines.
