We at NATSIMO would like to pay our deepest respects and are saddened to hear of the passing of Uncle Jack Charles.
Uncle Jack Charles, a Yorta Yorta, Woiwurrung, Boon Wurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung Elder whose contributions to the arts will be remembered always. His art, survival and truth-telling broke barriers for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to feel empowered to share their stories through various artforms.
His legacy leaves a lasting footprint for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and the nation more broadly.🖤
