Shelly Jones – Basketball Coach
Jones has accumulated more than 300 wins as a head coach, including at Parkview High School (134-37) and then Marshfield High School. At Parkview, she led the Lady Vikings to runner-up finishes in the Ozark Conference and Class 4 district play three consecutive years. Sixteen players earned college scholarships. At Marshfield, she led the Lady Jays to the Final Four in 2014. Overall, 21 athletes earned college scholarships. Additionally, Jones was an assistant at Southwest Baptist University in 2006 and 2007, and then spent six seasons as the top assistant at Drury University. At Drury from the fall of 2007 to the spring of 2013, her recruiting enhanced the Lady Panthers’ Great Lakes Valley Conference championships and NCAA Division II Tournament berths. Jones is a 1985 graduate of Christian County High School in Kentucky, where she played basketball and tennis, and later was honored among the Top 100 athletes for Western Kentucky in 2000. She is 1991 graduate of Austin Peay State University, having played two years at Paducah (Ky.) Community College and then at Union University in Jackson, Tenn.

Drury University student, Evangeline C. Jimenez, is missing and was last seen around 2:45am on January 18th near the Sigma Pi Fraternity House. Last known direction of travel was heading west crossing Robberson Ave. She is a Hispanic female, black hair, wearing a purple sweater with Greek lettering, dark pants, socks, no shoes, and large framed glasses. Evangeline is not believed to have a phone or her ID and with weather conditions her safety is of concern. Please contact Drury Security at 417-873-7400 with any information.
The Handling LP Gas Emergencies class for Saturday has been postponed to 03/09. Everyone currently registered will remain on the class roster. We still have seats for a couple more students.

We will be watching the broadcast Sunday and cheering for her as she is nominated for a best actress Golden Globe award for her starring role in Priscilla. Congratulations to the Spaeny family and to Springfield Little Theatre, where she studied and graced the stage many times.

Meet Melissa Ratliff. She rode Fire In The Hole on opening day in 1972, so of course she couldn’t miss riding on its final day 51 years later.
She says it brought back memories of riding with her father when she was a young girl. “If we don’t have memories, I don’t want to be here.” 🥹
