House of TATH
Welcome to House of TATH's art page. Grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair, and stay awhile.
"Home for Christmas"
(this time the animated version)
Did the inside of the house today and reworked the roof and some of the shading. Still need to do some yard decorations and possibly add some text.
for
project ... made a ton of progress in just a few hours.
WOW.
最後的曙光
An old classic bit of pixeling I did, but relevant to the season.
Why does my animated plant look like it's doing the royal wave at all its subjects?
LOL.
It's really starting to look like a proper garden.
It's hard not to post screenshots every single time I build a new thing.
Expanded the sky over my dark garden and made some new wall decor bits. Expanding the scene's width so I can continue making props while keeping everything used in the scene.
Also, so the sky is bigger because it's just ... pretty.
Detailing the sky a bit. I'm doing this for a commission for a game, so this counts as , right? LOL.
Sitting here watching all of the stuff going on around Twitter and decided to doodle.
Work in progress for a commission: Post Tenebras Lux
Haven't touched pixel art in a while. Thought I'd add some new environmental bits to my tile map. Feels good to be pixeling again.
Oh hay, I has sound now:
PS: probably going to change the hit sound. It's a bit boomy for a basic weapon.
Playing around in GameMaker with a new tileset I bought on itchio, and man... this is fun.
Very first rough draft of my very first commission:
Making more progress and put some mecha enemies in the scene for reference. Pretty happy with the decision to rework this tile set. The updates are rather satisfying.
GameMaker
Tinkering with the original bits of Battle Princess's tile map that started me on the journey of trying to build a complete platformer, and ... I'm pretty sure I'm about to rework the ENTIRE THING.
The way I pixel now sticks out like a sore thumb against my old work.
SO much progress this weekend. Now digging through retro 16 bit sound effects, and plugging them in to various things in the game.
If you have sci fi retro sound effects resources, please push them to me. I'm happy to buy stuff that sounds good and fits the game.
Got the shooting collisions working!
YAAAAAS!
I should probably ... uh... fix that...
IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!
Implemented: run, jump, idle animations that actually work.
That's NOT how that's supposed to work! LOL.
Successfully implemented:
1) Collider detection (floors work)
2) Directional control (basic movement)
3) Jump and double jump
4) Camera follow
5) Camera clamp (can't see outside the level)
Next up: animate sprites.
My code.
It's working.
I may cry.
Lots of progress on the game today. I actually managed to get movement, including a jump function, working. Also, camera follow, but it needs some tweaks.
I'm pretty stoked about how it's coming along.
I should be posting some footage fairly soon.
Been hanging out in some of the forums online, and I have to say, the community is just so very friendly and helpful. Just had guy I don't know jump in video chat and help me sort out some code.
That just sort of gave me all the feels. Such a great community.
Spent a good bit of time working on the game tonight. Managed to get BP to stop forever falling, but she kept sinking into the tiles.
😆
Fixed that as well.
Next up? Stop the character vibrations of DOOOOOOOM, and then maybe work on movement.
Me: Finally! I think I have the code working!
The code:
Been going through some tutorials from Shaun Spalding for GameMaker's GMS2. Seeing decent progress, but I'm taking my time to make sure I fully understand the mechanics of the engine.
Optimist is optimistic.
Playing around with some basic pickups. YAY HEARTS! LOL.
Aight opinions time: Which crystals?
Duuuuude....
I know I'm posting a lot of updates for this, but I'm just sort of bouncing off the walls at how well this is going.
It's just amazing watching this tile sheet progress.
Brick rework... take five hundred and something!
This is looking better all the time.
Me: I'll just add a filler background real quick.
*weeks later*
YAY FILLER BACKGROUND!
When boredom strikes.
Trying a complete different approach to cloud styling.
I think I like this much better.
Tinkering with sky stuff tonight.
