Good morning everyone! - For those of you that purchased the month-long NFHS Network subscription to watch the Luling 🏈 playoff game last week, the network will be showing the Luling junior varsity and varsity boys 🏀 teams games @ Waelder tonight courtesy of the folks over @ Waelder ISD. The schedule I have shows the JV game to tip @ 5:00p, followed by the varsity @ 6:15p… 🦅🦅🦅

Just a reminder for those of you that have “liked” this page that it has been “retired” and moved to “Luling EagleS (w/the “S”) Sports Broadcast”. Please follow us there. You will notice the broadcast from the Hondo/Luling game from last Friday night is there. We do apologize for the multiple posts on that, but we had technical issues w/the internet connection that caused those. Hello everyone! - For some reason, I am unable to update the name of this page to "Luling Eagles Sports Broadcast". (w/the "s" added to the end of "Eagle") I'm thinking it may be because "Sarge" is the one that created it, and he has since removed all ties he had to our page. Therefore, I have created a new page under this heading. If you could please give it a "like", it would be greatly appreciated! :) (I can send you an "invite" if you'd like to do it that way instead.) This is the page that will be updated going forward. Also, as an update, we have received approval to acquire the broadcasting equipment needed to continue on, so great news for us! :)
Hello everyone! 🤓 - I hope all of you have had a great summer thus far! I come to you today with some bad news, but hopefully a bit of good news as well. I’ll get the bad news over with: unfortunately for us, Emilio “The Sarge” Juarez and the Lions Pride Sports Broadcast has been selected to be the new broadcasting outfit for Lockhart Lions Athletics starting w/the 2020-21 school year. Great news for “Sarge” personally since he is a lifelong resident of Lockhart and a 1990 graduate of Lockhart HS. Both Brad Wright & myself wish “Sarge” the best of luck going forward with Lockhart Lions Athletics. I do want all of you to know that “Sarge” stated he really enjoyed his time w/us, the Luling Eagles fans, and will miss us. He has offered to help us continue the Luling Eagle Sports Broadcast going forward by offering expertise “behind the scenes” as it were.
So where does the Luling Eagle Sports Broadcast go from here? Well, that’s where the good news comes in! I had a very nice visit today w/Erin Warren, the Superintendent @ Luling ISD. We are efforting to acquire our own broadcast equipment in order to continue into the 2020-21 school year. For those of you that may not have been aware, when we lost “Sarge”, we also lost the equipment needed to broadcast athletic events. Graciously, “Sarge” has donated cabling & microphones to us, so we have that. There are 2 other pieces of equipment we need, and Mrs. Warren has assured me an effort will be made to acquire those. I may be leaning heavily on my friends w/broadcasting experience for help w/connecting the equipment and making sure people can hear us, so I hope in advance you don’t mind! 😁
I want to personally thank each and everyone of you for your support! When “Sarge” reached out to us in September of last year about broadcasting Luling Eagles Sports, I have to admit I was skeptical of how it would all work out. As it turns out, I was beyond pleased. It turned out to be more fun than I could have imagined. It’s something I really enjoy doing and hopefully can continue to do.
So, I ask that you stick with us going forward. We’ll do our best to continue to provide the information you have become accustomed to. I just kindly ask for your patience as we go through the “learning curve” and “growing pains”.

Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office
Double Homicide Investigation
On the afternoon of June 11, 2020, the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office arrested Bryan Haynes, 34 year old male of Austin, for the Capital Murder of Klayton Manning and his sixteen year old cousin that occurred Tuesday evening June 9th . The arrest was made at a residence in Bastrop County with the assistance of the Texas Rangers, U. S. Marshall Service, Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office and Austin Police Department.
Bryan Haynes is being held in the Caldwell County Jail for the charge of Capital Murder with a $500,000.00 bond.
The arrested subject is the only suspect in this case. This is an ongoing investigation by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office. The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office will release additional information if it becomes available.
The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office would like to give thanks to the following agencies for their assistance in helping bring a quick arrest in this tragic case:

My HEART is heavy and my HEART is in pain for the Manning Family, Friends, Luling and for the LULING HS Class of 2020. Two young lives were taken at the hands of another person or persons. But there are two young souls that are now in the HANDS of the GREATEST CREATOR OF ALL. The two young lives are at the side of GOD and these two young lives will be in a new life where life is ETERNAL. MAY GOD BLESS US ALL and give all those affected the LOVE, PEACE AND COMFORT during this very difficult time.
I didnt know you personally. But the chance meeting you and I will share is your stage walk and the Huge Smilie you had on your face during the Senior Parade as you stood proudly in the back of that Fire Truck. Ive only been a part of the Luling Community for one year by way of the LULING EAGLES SPORTS BROADCAST. But just as the Luling Community is hurting for your loss of life and your younger family memeber. I feel the pain and hurt. Even more for your parents. My wife and I have lost a child to a senseless murder on August 11, 2016. Our daughter was murdered and left on the side of Jolley Road in Caldwell County. So to the parents of Klayton and his younger relative. The JUAREZ Family feel your pain and hurt. If there is anything that we can do to help you out please dont hestitate to ask. To the Manning Family, Friends and Community of Luling, Texas. The JUAREZ Family sends our deepest condolences and prayers for all those affected by the tragic loss of Klayton Manning and his younger family member.
