Please share! I just found out about this lil girl today. We are behind, but with your help, the race can still be won.
On January 6th, this little one's disappearance shifted everything in her owners world.
When an owner quits their job to focus 100% on finding their best friend, her soul to soul connection, it says more than any collection of words ever could.
If she wasn't immediately picked up, she'll likely be a dirty matted lil rag doll by now from living under cars or bushes.
Keep an eye out and as always.. just call the number on the flyer and allow mama to come bring her home.
Remember when they told you taking a foreign language would help you later in life? Turns out they were right, and tonight it paid off! You see, I'm fluent in Australian!
This lil one was clearly in a hurry when she put on her make-up.. only got half her face done. She's still a beauty Queen(sland)
It started with the photo of her on the grass overlooking all that belonged to her.
Second photo, and here's where being fluent helps, "OMG that chicken was delicious." Well sweet young Queen, it was made just for you!
In that third photo, she asked if I was her new dad.
The Fourth clearly shows my response. Sorry girl, would if I could, but I can't so I won't.
She had made this area of Chino Hills her home for nearly two months according to those who fed her. If she looks familiar or if anyone knows a family that may be missing her, put us in touch.
Please share so we can try to get her home.
Thank you to Dawn and Esteban for all your communication and recon and to Laura and her husband Ken for making sure our little Queen had the best and freshest meal in town!
Please share!!! This girl escaped a family members home back on Nov 15th 23.
I was just introduced to her owner this morning via a dm and together we've decided to hit the reset button as hard as we can with new flyers and a new strategy.
Clearly a lot of time has passed and we're way behind where I normally like to be, but she could easily have been picked up or found herself on one of the large properties in the area.
She had just been groomed at that time but by now she's probably looking pretty rough.
If you've seen her, or even a dog like her, please call the number on the flyer.
Maybe's just might be!
And sometimes it's just that quick.
It never ceases to amaze me how these things unfold sometimes. A simple piece of paper placed at the right location in front of the right person...that one person who knew and cared enough to help.
These owners, even through their panic and fear, got their flyers up quickly. This reunion is 100% a result of their initial efforts.
The sooner flyers go up, the greater the saturation, the better a dogs odds are of getting home!
Thank you for all the shares!
Please share to help get this girl home! All it takes is that one person to see this to make a family whole again.
If seen, please just call the number on the flyer.
The news we want to hear, the reason that makes us cringe, but the outcome that's amazing to see.
She's been lost for quite a while. I've been in touch for half that time. After a shovel or two of fresh motivation and a new flyer the owners dive in. Trail cameras were purchased and deployed and potential sightings were dealt with strategically.
When you've reached your limit, when your brain tries to convince you she's gone, when all the advice from the internet has yet to pan out, stop, regroup, restart with your emotions locked up at home.
Emotions are a beautiful thing in a controlled environment, but will ALWAYS take you down the wrong path in a chaotic one.
Never give up until there's evidence that proves the reason. AND, fellow humans.. that thing you found has a heartbeat with other hearts torn.
Not many are naive enough to think that dogs never get dumped, but if that's your first thought, a situation like this will never be resolved. Always keep in mind, it's not finders keepers. I'm so glad this person saw the flyer AND was good enough to do the right thing!!
Now, tell me if you think that last slide isn't a look of... "am I in trouble?"
Welcome home Sissy!
Please share to help this family bring their girl home safely.
Last seen limping at location stated on the flyer.
DO NOT CHASE OR FOLLOW just call the number and let her family do the rest.
Sometimes you virtually meet people that are clearly your people. This past Thanksgiving day I get the usual message... hey...dog...can you help? Shortly after receiving the message I forwarded my number to her. I literally have to shift into high gear just to keep up with her. In the days to come she earns the nickname Firecracker!
Here's a woman camping in Death Valley who sees a dog and makes it her mission to save said dog from a guaranteed outcome as soon as the seasons change, if not sooner. She was recommended to me by an LA rescue, so off we go! We began to discuss the possibility of her coming here, borrowing a trap after getting a crash course, but it seems that wasn't an easy option. I just couldn't make the trip. I have one hope.. I called my friend Esteban who replied.. sure, I can go. He shows up to grab one of my large traps Friday morning and gets there that evening. By Saturday 6:50 am, the dog is safe. Sara, drives back there and takes possession of "Rainbow" by lunch. Off to the Big Pine shelter they go. She makes it clear, she's vested and will foster for the shelter or whatever. By 2:30 Sat, it's discovered that he's chipped. A call is made to the owner of record. Sara falls in love.
Mon, Sara is back at the shelter. Dec 8th she has a tag made. Dec 12th, she drives back and adopts him!
Owners never called back...
A new and beautiful life has placed itself in your path Rainbow! If only Sara could buy you a real bed instead of getting them during the half off sales!
Much respect Sara!
It often starts off with a simple DM, "hey, so there's these dogs..." Apparently it's pretty easy to get my attention. has a built in dog tuned divining rod. Each time she went looking, she'd find them. Soon enough nextdoor was spreading the news about these two. They were cautious, but I'm thinking the more people that knew about them, the more who tried to help. Something caused them to split up. In comes an owner of some rescue horses. She has hand fed one of them and seems to have a solid understanding of the other one. I set a trap where we knew one had been and were about to head to another location when a post went up stating one had crossed a major street and was on the move. I asked the magic dog finder to drive over there, while Quinn and I headed to the second area. It didn't take long and we got the call "I've got eyes on him." A 9 minute drive, then out to strategize this yard he popped into. As usual, he had his escape route already planned and he proved it. About a half mile away he goes into a second yard, only this time, he is "hiding" amongst cactus and really doesn't have a way out. Gotcha bud!!
Now that we have him loaded up, it's time for his buddy. Once again we split up and once again the divining rod works. Problem... he's on the safe side of a road barrier but along a 6 lane road.
After a bit of time trying to get him to come to me, I decide to set a trap. The bank he's on has a steep drop off and its not flat enough for the trap so I placed it ahead of our cars as we were blocking one of the lanes.
After a while, I asked Quinn to pull up behind me and see if she could hand feed and lure him to the trap. He was exhausted.. he tried but ended up falling asleep which was right in line with plan B. I think both of them were honestly a bit shocked to hear me say that I was going to sneak up and get him while he was asleep. I grabbed a snare my catchpole and made sure Quinn was giving me a second by second play by play update on his eyes, breathing, and anything else I might need to know.
I crossed the street, went down the hill a bit, crossed back to their side, ditched my boots and crept up the rest of the way.
There is no shortage of loose and lost pups desperately trying to survive out there.. This one in particular escaped a foster when the garage door opener was pressed accidentally. Hindsight is 20/20 and accidents happen all too often, but there's a simple solution which will ALWAYS prevent this from happening. UNPLUG YOUR GARAGE DOOR OPENER if you have a new one in the home.
If a dog can, a dog will!
Fortunately a couple of my friends Dawn and Esteban set out to provide local guidance which ultimately proved frustrating.
It's human nature to want to help. It's a natural reflex to chase or pursue. It's years of experience which overrides the impulsive actions.
No matter what is written, posted or even said face to face, there will always be some whose ears should have been donated to someone who could use them.
Fortunately for this dog, my friends pushed on and the dog was located after five days of dodging cars, people, and those ever present song dogs.
Shown are a few of the locations she was able to rest at, with the final location being behind that white wrought iron.
After seeing her dart into the corner of that yard, we put all eyes on the driveway while I went through my mental checklist of necessary gear and began the hour plus drive.
A quick team meeting, a slight change of plans now that I could see the landscape for myself and off we went. We used a blanket to cover the low spot, placed a body covering a part of the fence that was missing some vertical bars, quickly closed off the driveway with a net and discovered we needed two more bodies. The foster and another volunteer were just down the street keeping an eye out in case she got past us. They were there within a minute.
This girl had woken up, realized she was surrounded and dove into some bushes where she accepted her fate.
She has no idea how this scary moment just opened a door to a far better future.
I always say... sometimes you have to lose to win!
Please share. This scared lil one escaped earlier this afternoon. She may still be dragging a leash. It's a busy area, please DO NOT CHASE her, just call the number on the flyer.
I think I can, I think I can. Wait, no.. I'm not ready.
I watched this girl do her "i think i can" dance about every 15 minutes for 4 hours straight. She'd circle, sniff, circle some more, lay down sleep for a bit, then repeat. With each lap, she'd look over her shoulder straight into the camera. Somehow they know.
The last mile of this marathon was straight uphill. What only took a little over a minute, seemed like an eternity after watching so intently for so long. The conversation she had with herself was clear and fascinating to see. As is often the case, when the door closes, the look of "I KNEW IT" is comically obvious.
Night 3! We finally get a break as the owners of the house she's been hiding out at are home from a trip.. Efforts in the previous area resulted in,, shall we say, far less than favorable circumstances..
Little miss snootypants is holding out for free range chicken!
C'mon dork, sleeping inside will quickly lead to sleeping inside!
Stay tuned!
Zeus has been found! Thank you to everyone who shared and sent tips! I'm told a young lady was able to secure him and bring him inside. He's showing the mileage, but so far other than a little wear and tear he's in good shape. All parties involved did a fantastic job responding and processing calls, filtering scams and scrutinizing the TONS of reported loose huskies in the area.
The rescue and foster were able to manage emotions, which is a huge ask, and focus on the process.
Please share to LA friends! Do NOT approach him, just call the number on the flyer. He's a runner.. proof of that in the additional photos!
This little thang was seen running in a neighborhood for the past three to four days. She'd run from just about everything, even if you blinked too loudly for her.
I set up far enough away to not get her stirred up, but close enough to make her see (and smell) me setting the table for lunch. I could feel that she didn't want to wait for the fine linens to be ironed, or silver to be polished.. dude, get outta my way!
Within 3 minutes or so, the door came down!
She was pretty scared upon our approach, but began to soften very quickly. See the video just before this post.
This girl is young, sweet, and smart!
The Hesperia Trio!
I had the honor of being introduced to a bunch of beautiful souls today! Two of them were these dirty, but otherwise perfect Great Pyrenees, another was a gentle teddy bear wrapped up in a Corso costume.
Three dogs equals three traps, which oddly enough is all my van can fit. There were a ton of potential problems though. These big dogs were not likely to be trapped in any conventional manner, they're just too big. Upon arrival, I was told a few extra things.. The Corso protects the Pyrenees, oh... and they all have been seen jumping the fence. Well, damn.. if I hand catch one, he may freak out a bit causing the other two to leave.. NOT an option. I was also told, if you present a leash, they all scatter! We took them to the back of the house where there was a huge catio. The dogs followed the ladies in, I unloaded the traps and decided which we'd attempt first. Sounds funny, but I had the feeder get on her hands and knees and crawl through while holding a tempting treat. A very short time later. The Corso was done.. then the smaller Pyrenees, but the big boy was just too scared, so on a slip lead he went. It took a bit, but he finally just went in.
Through all of what we see, today was a reminder that there are some really good people in this world.
These pups had been in good hands for quite a while
BUSTED!!
This little German girl is presumed to have been attempting to steal trade secrets from the Coors plant where she'd been seen skulking around in the shadows since before the 4th of July. So far she's not talking, but we'll find out who she works for. If you've seen her around or know where she stayed previously, please let us know!
We know for sure she didn't have any ID on her nor any electronic government implants.
A few employees kept a great eye on her and even befriended her as suggested in their anti corporate espionage training manual. Without their diligence this clever little spy would've been much more difficult to capture. For now, she remains in custody.
Another victim of fireworks! Please share and keep an eye out for found posts and shelter intakes. Her dad needs her home safe!
***UPDATE*** FOUND AND SAFE!
Lisa from
Got a call stating she had been found behind a potted plant a fair distance and many busy streets away from where she was lost. In no time, the finder was able to get her secured while she was enroute.
Thank you for your shares!
***SHARE to LA friends***
Please keep an eye out for this pup. If seen, please ONLY call the number on the flyer.
***BENJI HAS BEEN FOUND*** thank you for sharing and keeping an eye out. Details are coming shortly!
***Please share with people in the area***
This pup escaped a trainer while being walked. He doesn't know the area. He is extremely shy and cautious around new people. If seen, PLEASE do NOT pursue him. Just call the number with time, location, and direction of travel.
If you're local, please screenshot the flyer so you won't have to search for it if you see him.
Somewhere between a freeway and some freight rail lines exists a place called hell. It's an area that good dogs find themselves in at no fault of their own. This boy existed amongst the miles of foxtails and waited for his loyal servant to bring food and water as she does for so many! He would often show himself to my friend Dawn, but would never allow her to close the distance. When she couldn't do it, our buddy Esteban would. Once the water was refreshed, food was dropped and she was heading away in her car, only then would he trot towards the food.
Well today, as we've done before, the three of us got together and executed the plan. As is often needed, a trick falls out my sleeve and we put it to good use. This boy quickly realized his day just got better.
I've been aware of this pup for the past couple of weeks. I had asked another trapper Sandra to see what she could do. The consensus was the dog was very likely catchable, just where would she go once caught? That seems to be a common theme these days. Shelters and rescues alike are beyond maxed.. Out of the blue, a rescue reached out to see if maybe I could help. We've worked on many loose and lost ones before, so the answer was yes. They had sent a photo of this pup, and it was clear it was the same dog. After 2 days of slowing down the volume she was being fed, it was time for her to leave the dirt behind.
Once she picked up on the scent it was a foregone conclusion. Admittedly, watching the video over again, it was a close one!
She's a sweetheart, a great passenger, pretty young, and very relieved! We've named her "missy T"
This little elderly married couple found themselves in a bad spot. Pinned between an off ramp, a very busy road and under a major freeway. These locations are tough enough with just one dog, but dealing with two,, more than doubles the problem sometimes.
Good sams had been feeding them for weeks.
The female was said to have had puppies out there. People saw a woman gathering them up and leaving with them. To some, this might seem like a good to protect the babies, but to most, it's a heartless act often based on greed!
I couldn't even get the second trap baited before the female got trapped. The unfortunate thing was, he was right behind her and freaked out a bit.
After four hours I called in for some help. Veronica has assisted me many times before and has zero hesitation to do whats needed without even having to ask. This time was her turn! I was at one end with the brother of one of the good sams, and she was at the other with his sister. Next thing I know, she's telling me GOT HIM!
To say I'm relieved would be an understatement! After months of being involved in the day to day development and refinement of strategies, Stella is finally safe. An incredible amount of time was spent over these past several months. This girl was either a step ahead of us, or somehow knew what we were up to nearly the whole time. Getting her to repeat patterns and show up reliably proved to be frustrating to say the least. Only twice during all this time were we able to get her to cooperate. One of the biggest challenges we faced was that the local trappers weren't actually very local. Each time they made the commitment to go, it was a 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive each way. Regardless of these challenges, we were all committed to the point of being committed! Throughout the surrounding neighborhood, we discovered significant indifference, pushback, refusal to allow cameras to be placed, and in one instance a neighbor was caught taking a camera and burying in a hole then covering it with leaves. It's events like this that I'm glad I wasn't local... Two neighbors, yes only two allowed us access after they'd spotted her on their cameras. The owners of this property gave the team full access 24/7. Stella had seen and approached the kennel trap multiple times per week, yet wouldn't walk in. The property owner had a friend who modified the door threshold by cutting it off and welding on a flat strap thereby eliminating the need to step over something. It didn't work. She still wouldn't go in. Upon the second to last trip the trappers made, they made a decision based on an experience with another dog we were working. The trap had bright yellow bungee cords acting as the spring to slam the door. They followed their hunch and replaced them with new black ones... that was the first night she went in!
Work and life was calling and they had to leave, but over the next couple weeks we watched nightly and saw Stella's confidence increase.
Last night, we we're set and ready. Thunder and rain kept her down longer than expected, but she showed! After all this time, all the challenges including opossum, skunks, cats, raccoons and even a deer twice, it was quiet enough for her to go in and us worry less about unintended captures.
Much respect for the level of dedication from the crew of Waggintails SAR led by Kimber, Leslie, and Chally and quite grateful to a local woman named Christine who toward the end checked and moved cameras as well as became the feeder when the owners became ill, not to mention the homeowners of the property!
Was it the smallest of details, the yellow bungees? We'll never know, but I'll tell you, based on this, I'll never try another color other than black. Go with your gut when it can't hurt.
Congratulations WagginTails!
Too good not to share!
A dog I've been helping with is finally walking confidently into a kennel trap. The amount of skunks, opossum, racoons and local cats helping themselves is mind blowing. But this was a little needed comedic surprise last night.
Stella : "OMG OMG, try to ignore, be cool, don't say anything, just mind your own business"
Stinky racing stripe butt : "umm, excuse me, may I join you?"
Stella "uh, sure." Thinking to self... hold your breath, don't stare, NOW RUN!!
To our surprise, Stella came back moments later after Stinky Butt left!
Stay tuned. Hoping to wrap this girl up soon
This is a diamond in the rough!
My former right hand Megan reached out to me the other night asking for help on a pup she and her guy Cruz discovered in Santa Ana. She would watch people, but would retreat if anyone got close.
However she got there is of no consequence. The only thing certain is that she's had it rough for quite some time.
We set a trap to which she had no interest. The area is industrial and fairly active at night.. activity which is not conducive to trapping.
The parking lot was approximately 40 feet wide and the backup plan was to stretch a 30 foot net across it with a person on each end to cover the gaps.
As luck would have it, a couple cars came and parked right in front of the business where she was. We had to move the net past and behind them quickly as they were being very loud.
Once the net was being held up, I went inside and began to pressure her toward it. She began to run towards Cruz who moved decisively and pressured her into the net. As it was a bit loose still, I backed it up with my large pole net.
After moving her into a van, the untangling began. Even through the surprise and fear, she did her best to trust.
All that is unappealing on the outside can be transformed with nutrition, meds and time. Inside, this girl is beautiful!
The things most never see...
Some dogs are caught quickly, some take a huge amount of time. This is one of those.
Scent plays a huge part in trapping. It can play to our advantage or it can really hinder the efforts. Every dog is different.
I started helping my friend Dawn quite a while back on this boy. He gets around, but it's pretty clear his hind quarters have been introduced to a car bumper at some point. A few weeks back, a few people came to help try to capture him. We were able to apply some pressure from one side to urge him to move towards me. I was able to get a net over him, but he hit the net and rolled it out of my hands.
You can have plan A, B, C, D, and E, but dogs will often teach you that they know the entire alphabet. You think you need three people, you'd better have five!
Conventional traps hadn't yielded any results, between his apprehension to go in, and the fact that many are likely feeding him, we just can't get his belly to override his brain.
A kennel trap was set up at a location where he was being fed. Electronics were installed to close the door once he got to a certain position in the trap. Due to his trust in the feeder, to our surprise, he confidently walked in.
Even after several successful tests, at go time, the system failed. Although disappointing, the lack of anything scary happening when he enters the trap creates a "non-event”. While this delays things, builds confidence in the dog that entering the trap is safe.
Meanwhile, I had to fix the electronic system that was failing. I found a reseller of the necessary components, bought the replacement parts and headed to the location early.
When I arrived on scene just after 6am I wasn't aware that our guy was actually there before me! He was just as surprised as I was.
I wanted to avoid this since anything new, like my presence and scent, can easily put him on even higher alert, thus dragging out the rescue. I completely ignored him as he left the trap, hoping the absence of intention or actions would make him feel less threatened so he'd return sooner. Wishful thinking!
3 1/2 hours later, he comes back…
The video shows what sometimes happens, causing certain rescues to be drawn out.
Watch his behavior and primarily his nose.
People are amazed at just how sensitive their noses are. He left thinking to himself... wait I remember, that's that net guy.
The day was a bust and he thinks he won, but you just wait buddy, the moment you lose is the moment you truly win!
More to come
A nap til 2am and 340 miles later this lil guy was safely captured just before sunrise. Within the fenceline of a 3600 acre solar power facility, his stay there varied from 3 months to a year depending on who you talked to. Employees would feed him and provide water, even though it was said management vehemently objected. He was a buddy to many! I'm told several of the employees wanted him, he just couldn't be caught. (even though some purportedly could pet him) Upon arriving, I quickly noticed i was being watched by security. I approached and began a conversation explaining why I was there. Shortly after explaining that I had zero expectation of being let in, I told them I would set a trap outside the gate. This pup was right there the whole time watching me. I watched as he tried to squeeze through until he gave up and went back by the guards. Ultimately I convinced them to open it up and let him out. Two minutes later, he was in the trap.
The potential for chaos always exists when you take them from where they've been and place them in foster. Well lil guy, you got what you always wanted, it just hasn't sunk in yet!
The moment you realize why boxes say "open other end!" 🤣
I think I need a sign made...
