Today, I was pleased to have had the opportunity to visit the Residence of the Garre Sultan Haji Mohamed Haji Hassan Gababa at Dawa zone.

The Garre and Degodia community are both residents of the Dawa and Libin Zone respectively.

I delivered my message of peaceful coexistence and the spirit of brotherhood between the communities in living this region.

Still on our popularization campaign of the , this morning we held a well attended town hall meeting in Moyale town.

Our caravan reached Marsabit county this afternoon. We held a successful joint rally of Mandera and Marsabit chapter. Moyale hosts a significant number of Mandera voters too and we had the opportunity to ask for their support for and Presidential candidate Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga.

The Degodia Women Wing Mandera East chapter today held a meeting with Mandera East mobilization team ahead of the grand tour that has kicked off officially.

It’s not business as usual. It’s all systems go in all the sub-counties!

Today, elders, Professionals, women and youth from the Degodia community in Mandera town held a briefing meeting ahead of UDM tour of the county.

My appreciation to the community for the meeting that resolved to grant the UDM team a grand reception during the tour that will culminate in a major rally in Mandera town, Insha’Allah.

This afternoon, I was honoured to attend a meeting held by the Weytan community to affirm their support for the UDM party and their gubernatorial candidate Hon Mohamed Adan Khalif.

I want to take this opportunity to appreciate the Weytan community for their unwavering support towards our party and the candidates vying for different political positions through
Asanteni Sana.

This morning, we held a consultative and planning meeting with key elders, professionals, youth, women and other stakeholders on the upcoming tour to the county as part of the start of our vigorous campaigns.

Alhamdulilah, having successfully completed my Umrah and witnessed the last days of the blessed month of Ramadhan in Makkah, I travelled to Istanbul - Turkey to join my colleagues for a Leadership Training Workshop. On completion of the training and upon my return to the country Insha’Allah, we shall continue with our political engagements from where we left before the start of Ramadhan.

This evening together with Dr. Ali Mohamud ( Our DG nominee), we hosted a get together Iftar meeting with key leaders, senior professionals and our technical team at Monarch hotel, Nairobi. We had a fruitful engagements on various issues of great importance to our team.

My appreciation to the team for wonderful deliberations and positive feedback.

To all our Muslim Ummah across the globe, I wish you Ramadhan Mubarak. May the Almighty Allah see us through the blessed month of Ramadhan which comes with lots of blessings

Today, I witnessed the official endorsement of Hon. Mohamed Adan Khalif and his running mate Dr. Ali mohamud as the next Governor and Deputy Governor respectively for Mandera county at KICC. The joint endorsement by the larger Garre,Degodia, Weytan, Corner tribe and Marehaan communities was done in a colourful ceremony attended by the leaders, senior Professionals, elders, youth and women.

All communiities in Mandera County have unanimously declared their support for the Candidature of Hon. Mohamed Adan Khalif and Dr Ali Mohamud.

As it happened in 2017, we only support those who will form the government.

This afternoon, I was endorsed by the larger Birkaya sub-clan of Mandera County. The endorsement event of my 2022 candidature as MP Mandera North for the second term was attended by leaders, elders, youth and professionals among others from the Birkaya community.

This comes after the endorsement of my 2022 candidature by all the communities living in Mandera North on 27th Feb, 2022 in Rhamu.

My gratitude for the support and for once again echoing loudly. Asanteni!

After lengthy deliberations amongst the Degodia stakeholders, we finally settled on Dr. Ali Mohamud as the Deputy Governor nominee to deputize Hon. Mohamed Adan Khalif in the United Democratic Movement (UDM) party line up.

Congratulations Daktari! You have everything it takes to be the next DG of this great county of Mandera.

MAANZONI DECLARATION

Today the 16th of March 2022, a committee composed of elders, professionals, youth, Ulamas and women from all Dagodia clan of Mandera county held a consultative meeting at MAANZONI Lodge in Machakos County.
The community had in the recent past nominated a technical committee composed of distinguished individuals to guide the political process.
The committee was tasked by the community to give a clear direction on the county lineup, which the community shall support in the forthcoming elections.
The committee had a candid engagement with all the gubernatorial candidates with the sole objective of finding a suitable political partner.
After careful considerations and thoughtful deliberations with various gubernatorial candidates we resolved the following:
That the community will support Mr. Mohamed Adan Khalif (MAK) for his candidature as the most suitable Gubernatorial candidate for mandera county.
that the degodia community will front a suitable deputy governor candidate as the running mate for Mr Mohamed Adan Khalif.
During the negotiations, Mr. Mohamed Adan Khalif committed to the following terms which formed our bases for the partnership.
That he will offer the community the positon of the DEPUTY GOVERNOR.
That he will shall allocate the county devolved resources (both development and human resources) fairly and equitably to the communities in Mandera county.
That he will promote peace and tranquility among all the communities in Mandera county

This morning, I attended the the United Democratic Movement (UDM) National Delegate Congress held at the Bomas of Kenya in my capacity as the Deputy Party Leader. The event was graced by the Rt. Hon Raila Amollo Odinga and other leaders.

The NDC among other resolutions endorsed the Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga as the presidential candidate for UDM under the umbrella.

I thank the delegates from the 10 counties that attended the event. Asanteni.
