There will be no Repair Cafe in August because the volunteers are taking a well-earned break. The next Repair Cafe will be on the first Saturday of September at Atherington. Hope you are enjoying the sunshine!

It’s that time of the month again when the repairers are preparing their tools for the Repair cafe on Saturday, the bakers are deciding what to bake and you are making a list of what to bring along to be sharpened or repaired.

We’d love to see you with, or without, repairs. If you haven’t got anything that needs repairing why not come along for a cuppa, some cake and a chat?

We have had two televisions donated which we are selling for Repair cafe funds:

Samsung 18.5 inch screen. 993HD plus remote controller.
Sony 26.5 inch screen. Model 26S5500 LED. Plus remote controller.
Both PAT tested.

Along with our usual selection of delicious cakes and bakes we will be serving homemade soup and locally made pasties so why not come along and find out what we’re all about whilst you enjoy some refreshments.

We will be launching our latest development; the Library of Things. This initiative is very exciting and we’d love to tell you all about how it works and how you can save yourself money and storage space and help save the planet at the same time 👍💚.

After our really successful new & good quality nearly new clothes sale we will be having another one along with a plants and seeds stall and a Charity Bric a Brac stall. All these pop-ups fit in with our ethos of reducing waste and encouraging reusing and recycling.

You don’t have your bring a repair to come along. We’d love to see you on Saturday at The Repair Cafe, High Bickington & Atherington with, or without, your repair.

We have a sharpener, sewers, repairers, delicious cakes and bakes ready and waiting for you to pop in.

In preparation for sunnier weather and warmer days 😆🤞 why not bring along your garden shears and secateurs for sharpening? This service is always popular and well-used.

Repair cafes are a great way to save some money, to reduce your waste and to socialise.

You don’t have to bring a repair to come along. You could just join us for a cuppa, some cake and a chat. It is a great Community event where all are welcomed.

Our Pop-up table on Saturday is ‘Bric-a-Brac’ stall where you will be able to donate or buy good quality new or nearly new items.

Everything is done on a donation basis. People pay what they can for items that are repaired, sharpened or PAT tested and for refreshments.

Thank you to everyone who helped with yesterday’s Repair cafe. Our team of bakers, helpers and repairers all did a great job.

It was lovely to see some new customers as well as some of our regulars at the first cafe of 2024.

We would like to expand our team and are particularly looking for someone who can tackle ‘techy’ repairs and some additional bakers so if you feel that you might be able to offer up those skills (or others) to the Repair cafe please get in touch.

We have some exciting developments coming soon. A good quality second Hand Clothes sale and a Community/Charity Pop-up table will both feature at the next cafe on Saturday 2nd March at High Bickington Community Centre. We are also looking to launch our Library of Things soon.
