Last night, we made it official! I’m so excited to serve the city of Hazel Park. Some days it doesn’t feel real. Thank you again, voters, for making this happen and being a
part of this historical moment. And thank you, Judge Brian Hartwell, for doing the honors of giving me the oath.

It’s been a very busy week post election, but I want to take a moment to say Happy Veterans Day. As the grand daughter of two veterans and someone with many family and friends who have served, I don’t think a single day on the calendar is enough to pay respect to them. They deserve more in return for what they have given and endured for this country.
Thank you veterans for your service and sacrifice.

As chair of the Environmental Sustainability Committee, I want to see Hazel Park become part of more initiatives to help the environment. Take a break from mowing and use the month of May to focus on your gardens! Our pollinators will love you🐝 🦋

In an effort to protect our environment and our local ecosystem, the City of Hazel Park Environmental Sustainability Committee is encouraging residents to participate in LOW-MOW MAY from now until May 22nd, and delay the first week or two of your normal lawn maintenance routine.

This will help to provide a healthy habitat for endangered pollinators to thrive. If you elect to participate in this program, and place the participation sign below in your window, Code Enforcement will not take enforcement action against your residence for tall grass or weeds until enforcement resumes on May 22nd.

Participation signs are also available for pick up at the Building Department in City Hall. The Environmental Sustainability Committee will also be providing education and information about environmentally friendly lawn maintenance practices, and alternative ground cover options during this time.

The City of Hazel Park reserves the right to take enforcement action in instances where health and safety are threatened, such as fire prevention and pest control.

Please be respectful of your neighbors whether they, or you, choose to participate, or not. Working together, we can provide a healthy future for Hazel Park!

Hello,

My name is Andrea, and I want to be your next Hazel Park city council member. Since 2018, I have lived in Hazel Park and love this city. I believe in its present and future and want to see our 2.8 miles squared reach its potential while keeping the same feelings of home for its residents. I was appointed to the Planning Commission in 2020 and currently serve as vice chair. I am also proud to sit as the inaugural chair of the Environmental Sustainability Committee.

Ask me about my dogs.

Thank you for your support!
