Border Terriers are great with kids and animals alike. They just want to be a part of the family, and they have in them limitless affection. They’re more understanding of your schedule than other breeds, but would still prefer you’re around as frequently as possible. That said, with proper exercise a Border terrier isn’t likely to destroy your house because you leave it alone for a few hours.

Border Terriers are outgoing and thrive on company. If you leave him alone for long periods of time he may become lonely and develop bad behaviors. Channel his energy into play or exercise. Border Terriers might enjoy canine sports such as flyball, rally, obedience and agility training.
