I put together this video to express my gratitude to Mike, Bovs, and Curtis for the 6 years of practices, hauling, setting up, tearing down, laughs, loves, losses, and mostly...making music together! Special thanks to everyone who has shared the stage with us, singing and jamming or filling in when needed. The boys and I also want to say how much we appreciate everyone who has come out to our shows and encouraged us through good times and bad. Thank you!! 🤟🎸🎤🎹🥁🍻❤️

13/08/2023

Definitely the best view we’ve had for a gig!

12/08/2023

The boys and I want to thank the good people of Shadybrook (NOT Sunnybrook 😁 ) for having us out to play Saturday night. We are looking forward to playing on the beach, it's a first for us! If any of our devoted friends/family want to come out for the show DM us...we'll put you on the list. It will be our last (semi) public performance as, well, Jimmy quit, Jody got married....shoulda known we'd never get far.
Those WERE the best days of my life.

July on the Side organizers share their side of the story - Kimberley Daily Bulletin 05/08/2023

We got our story told! 😄
Thanks so much to the Bulletin and Paul for taking an interest in our 'Side'. And a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered or helped out in any way!

July on the Side organizers share their side of the story - Kimberley Daily Bulletin At this year’s JulyFest, Heather Gemmell was made music manager for the festival and she made the decision to have bands not play two years in a row. Some local musicians took issue with that and decided to put on their own event, which they dubbed July on the Side.

Swampy McDuff

Kudos to Swampy to find Glen Campbell on the bagpipes.

The first Earth Day was 50 years ago today — a good excuse to plant that tree you’ve been wanting.

Jack Nicholson shares his April 22nd birthday with Peter Frampton and the late Glen Campbell. Campbell was a musician’s musician. Before he attained his success as a solo artist, he did studio work for a few years as part of the legendary “Wrecking Crew”.

Although he was a highly-respected guitarist, turns out he played other instruments as well. Check him out covering this Paul McCartney/Denny Laine tune.

Interesting

In 1953, CIA director Allen Dulles launches Project MKUltra, a mind-control experiment using L*D and sexual abuses to measure human psychological responses to hallucinogenics. Notable subjects include Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter, Unabomber Ted Kaczynski and mobster Wh**ey Bulger. ?

Speaking of L*D, happy birthday to Jack Casady from the band Jefferson Airplane. He started with James Brown before joining the Airplane and co-writing White Rabbit - the story of a girl on an ‘adventure’.

Today would be Hillel Slovak’s 58th birthday. He was the core of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, even teaching Flea the bass in high school. Not only was he a great guitarist, he could see potential in people and took that chance with an accomplished trumpet player.

Like you, we share our sadness of the loss of John Prine. His ability to create songs that reflect life with humanity and humour were recognized as recently as this year’s Grammy Awards. Cheers to him.

It’s National Beer Day? Wow!
Perhaps our quarterly seasonal celebration seems a little overkill.

We’re always looking for new songs to try out. With about 100 in the queue, is there anything you wanna add to “The List”?
No jazz.
