In the Gospel of Matthew, our Lord Jesus Christ reminds us that "where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." This teaches us that the power of togetherness, of fellowship, is not to be underestimated. In our unity, we find His presence. Have a blessed weekend, brothers and sisters!

Embracing God's Eternal Love

On August 12, 2023, the BCBP Bogo Chapter gathered for a meaningful Breakfast fellowship centered on "God's Love is Eternal." Amidst the joys of togetherness and a delicious breakfast, the morning's highlight was the inspiring life-sharing of the dynamic couple, Mr. Jay M. Benueza and Mrs. Katherine C. Benueza.

Their testimony of enduring love, faith, and the unwavering presence of God touched our hearts deeply. Their journey reflects the eternal nature of God's love, guiding and uplifting us through every season of life.

As we continue our individual journeys, may the message of eternal love resonate within us. Let's draw inspiration from the Benueza couple's story and remember that God's love remains a constant source of strength, comfort, and hope. (By Danpaul Mahinay)

It was reported that a movie theater displayed a short film which began with a snapshot of the room ceiling. No details, no colors. Just a white ceiling.

The same scene remained displayed for 6 long minutes when the moviegoers started to get frustrated. Some complained about the film wasting their time and others started to leave.

Suddenly, the camera lens slowly started to move until it reached down towards the floor. A small child who appeared handicap was lying fixed on the bed, suffering from a spinal cord tear.

The camera then pans back up to the ceiling with the following words:

"We showed you only 8 minutes of this child's daily activity, only 8 minutes from the scene that this handicap child watches at all hours of his life, and you complained and weren't patient for even 6 minutes, you couldn't bear to watch it.."

Sometimes we need to put ourselves in others shoes in order to realize the magnitude of blessings we are given and to thank God for bestowing us with such blessings that we take for granted.

The Movie PASSION OF CHRIST:

โ€œMel Gibson warned actor Jim Caviezel that playing the character of Christ was going to be very difficult and that if he accepted, he most likely would be marginalized by Hollywood.

Caviezel asked for a day to think about it and his response to Mel who was funding and directing the movie was: "I think we have to make it, even if it is difficult." And something else, my initials are J.C., and I am 33 years old. "I didn't realize that until now."
Mel responded with โ€œYou're really scaring me you know.โ€

During filming, Jim Caviezel who plays the part of Jesus lost 45 pounds, he was struck by lightning, he was accidentally struck twice during the scourging scene leaving a deep ๏ฟผ14-inch scar, he dislocated his shoulder when the cross was dropped into the hole with him on the cross. He then suffered pneumonia and hypothermia from being nearly naked with only a loin cloth on the cross for endless hours. The crucifixion scene alone took 5 weeks of the 2 months of shooting.

His body was so stressed and exhausted from playing the role that he had to undergo two open heart surgeries after the filming production.

Jim explained, โ€œI didnโ€™t want people to see me. I just want them to see Jesus. Conversions will happen through that.โ€

Almost like a clairvoyant prediction many amazing things happened.

Pedro Sarubbi, who played Barabbas, felt that it was not Caviezel๏ฟผ who was looking at him, but Jesus Christ himself, as he played that role he said of Caviezel, โ€œHis eyes had no hatred or resentment towards me, only mercy and love."

Luca Lionello, the artist who played Judas, was an avowed atheist before shooting began. He eventually converted, and baptized his children.

One of the main technicians working on the film was a Muslim converted to Christianity.

Some producers said they saw actors dressed in white they didnโ€™t recognize during one of the filming sessions, and when they reviewed the recordings they realized they couldnโ€™t see them in that footage.

The Passion of the Christ is the highest grossing US religious as well as the highest R-rated film of all time, with $370.8 million! Worldwide, it grossed $611 million.

More importantly, it has reached 100โ€™s of millions of people around the world.

Mel Gibson paid $30 million out of his own pocket for the production of the film because no studio would take on the project.

Today Jim Caviezel simply and boldly proclaims his faith in Christ, and the miracle it was for him to represent Christ as an actor and a greater believer of Christ because of this experience.

At the World Championships in Budapest in June, USAโ€™s Anita Alvarez sank to the bottom of the pool.

Looking across the deck, then noticing she was under way too long, her coach, Andrea Fuentes immediately dove in after her fully clothed, pulling her to safety. Anita was unconscious and didnโ€™t have the capacity to kick, paddle, or help herself in any way.

If Andrea would not have noticed, she would have drown.

But she knew Anita. She looked for her, quickly noticed she was under too long, then dove in without thinking twice.

This has resonated with meโ€ฆ.

When you are under too long, who are the people that will look for you, notice, and dive in to pull you to the surface when you lose your strength to swim?

Who are the people that would do that for you?

And can someone count on you to be that person that would go looking and notice when they are under too long, diving in to support them when they are all out of fight and fuel to swim in these turbulent waters we call life?

Life is like a bowl of ice cream, filled with flavors and sweetness that remind us of God's goodness. Just as the psalmist says in Psalm 34:8, "Taste and see that the Lord is good," we can savor the moments and experiences that God has given us.

Sometimes, just like how we encounter brain freeze when we eat ice cream too quickly, life's challenges can leave us feeling overwhelmed. Yet, we can find comfort in the words of Psalm 46:10, "Be still, and know that I am God." It's a reminder to slow down, trust in God's presence, and allow our worries to melt away.

But the beauty of life's ice cream bowl lies in sharing it with others. In Acts 2:46, it says, "They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts." Similarly, when we share our joys, sorrows, and love with others, we create a sense of community and fellowship that brings warmth to our souls.

So, let us savor the sweetness, find solace in God's promises, and share the blessings of life's ice cream bowl with those around us. May our lives be a testimony to the goodness of God, as we taste and see His love in every scoop.

An Airbus 380 is on its way across the Atlantic. It flies consistently at 800 km/h at 30,000 feet, when suddenly a Eurofighter with a Tempo Mach 2 appears.

The pilot of the fighter jet slows down, flies alongside the Airbus and greets the pilot of the passenger plane by radio: "Airbus, boring flight isnโ€™t it? Now have a look here!"

He rolls his jet on its back, accelerates, breaks through the sound barrier, rises rapidly to a dizzying height, and then swoops down almost to sea level in a breathtaking dive. He loops back next to the Airbus and asks: "Well, how was that?"

The Airbus pilot answers: "Very impressive, but watch this!"

The jet pilot watches the Airbus, but nothing happens. It continues to fly straight, at the same speed. After 15 minutes, the Airbus pilot radios, "Well, how was that?

Confused, the jet pilot asks, "What did you do?"

The AirBus pilot laughs and says: "I got up, stretched my legs, walked to the back of the aircraft to use the washroom, then got a cup of coffee and a chocolate fudge pastry."

The moral of the story is: When youโ€™re young, speed and adrenaline seems to be great. But as you get older and wiser, you learn that comfort and peace are more important.

This is called S.O.S.: Slower, Older and Smarter.

Dedicated to all my Friends ~ itโ€™s time to slow down and enjoy the rest of the trip. ๐Ÿค—โค

Imagine a ship arriving safely at a port, unloading its cargo, and finding temporary refuge. At first glance, it seems like a moment of accomplishment and relief. However, upon closer examination, we realize that the ship was not designed solely for the purpose of staying safe in port. Its true purpose lies beyond the safety of the harbor.

In this analogy, the ship represents our potential and aspirations, while the port symbolizes a comfort zone or a place of temporary stability. While it is essential to have a safe haven, staying within the confines of the port alone does not fulfill our true potential for growth and achievement.

The ship is built for the vast and open sea, where it can navigate uncharted waters, explore new horizons, and fulfill its purpose. Similarly, we are designed to venture outside our comfort zones, take risks, and challenge ourselves in pursuit of our dreams and goals.

While the port provides security, it can also become a place of stagnation if we linger there for too long. It's easy to get comfortable, settle for mediocrity, and resist the call for growth and expansion. However, deep down, we know that our true potential lies beyond the safety of the port.

Leaving the port requires courage and a willingness to face uncertainty. Just as a ship must sail through storms and rough seas to reach new destinations, we must be prepared to embrace challenges, persevere through setbacks, and venture into unfamiliar territories to achieve our ambitions.

By recognizing that the ship is not meant to stay in port, we awaken to the realization that our potential extends far beyond our current circumstances. We are meant to explore, innovate, and make a difference in the world. Stepping out of the comfort zone allows us to discover new strengths, acquire valuable experiences, and reach heights we never thought possible.

So, while the port provides a temporary respite, let it serve as a launching pad rather than a final destination. Embrace the call of the open sea, where you can harness your full potential, chart your own course, and sail towards the fulfillment of your dreams.

Imagine you are standing on the seashore, gazing out at the vast expanse of the ocean before you. The ocean represents life with all its uncertainties, challenges, and storms that may arise. In this analogy, faith in God can be likened to a sturdy lighthouse standing tall amidst the tumultuous waves.

Just as a lighthouse provides guidance and reassurance to ships navigating through treacherous waters, faith in God serves as our beacon of hope, illuminating our path in times of darkness and uncertainty. It represents the unwavering trust and belief that there is a higher power, a divine presence, who is watching over us and guiding us towards safety.

During the storms of life, when the waves crash against us and the winds threaten to sweep us away, faith in God acts as our anchor. It keeps us grounded, providing the strength and courage to face any challenges that come our way. Like a lighthouse that stands firm against the raging tides, faith helps us stand firm in the face of adversity, knowing that we are not alone in our struggles.

Just as a lighthouse can be seen from miles away, faith in God shines brightly, radiating hope and comfort to all who seek it. It serves as a reminder that there is a higher purpose to our existence and that we are part of a larger plan. With faith, we find solace in knowing that there is a divine presence who loves us unconditionally and who will guide us through life's journey.

In the analogy of the lighthouse, faith in God offers a sense of direction and stability, even in the midst of life's turbulent seas. It is an unwavering trust that allows us to navigate through the trials and tribulations, knowing that God's love and guidance will lead us to calmer shores.

So, let the image of the lighthouse inspire you to cultivate and strengthen your faith in God. Embrace it as a symbol of hope, a source of comfort, and a guiding light that will always be there, guiding you through life's challenges and reminding you of the divine presence that surrounds you.

Imagine a tiny seed that falls into a deep, dark chasm. The seed is alone and buried deep underground, with no hope of sunlight or nourishment. It seems like all is lost, and the seed may never have the chance to grow and flourish.

But suddenly, a miracle occurs. Against all odds, the seed begins to sprout, sending a small tendril upwards towards the light. Despite the darkness and the obstacles in its path, the seed is determined to grow, to thrive, and to reach the light.

In the same way, we may sometimes feel like we are buried deep in a pit of despair, with no hope of escape. We may face challenges that seem insurmountable, and we may feel like giving up. But just as the seed was determined to grow and reach the light, we too can persevere and overcome.

We can nourish our dreams and aspirations, even in the darkest of times. We can take small steps towards our goals, even when it seems like nothing is happening. We can have faith that even though we may not see the results right away, we are making progress towards something great.

And just like the seed that grew into a mighty tree, we too can achieve great things if we continue to persevere and work towards our dreams, no matter how difficult the journey may seem.

I LOVE THIS ANALOGY!

Have you ever shaken a can of soda before opening it? You may have noticed that if you shake the can, it becomes pressurized and volatile. When you open it, the contents may explode and create a mess.

In the same way, life can sometimes shake us up and test our character. We may face challenges, adversity, and difficult situations that pressurize us and make us feel like we are going to explode. But just like a can of soda, how we respond to these challenges is what matters.

Do we let our emotions get the best of us and explode in anger or frustration? Or do we keep our cool and handle the situation with grace and maturity?

In the book of James, chapter 1, verses 2-4, it says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

This passage reminds us that trials and challenges are not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, they can help us grow in our faith and character if we allow them to. The testing of our faith can produce perseverance, which in turn can lead to maturity and completeness.

So the next time life shakes you up like a can of soda, remember to stay calm and composed. Take a deep breath and trust in God's plan for your life. Allow the testing of your faith to produce perseverance and character, and strive to be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

In closing, let us pray: Heavenly Father, we thank you for the trials and challenges that come our way, knowing that they can help us grow in our faith and character. Help us to stay calm and composed in the face of adversity, and to trust in your plan for our lives. May the testing of our faith produce perseverance and character, and may we strive to be mature and complete, not lacking anything. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
