The PPS – Negros Occidental Chapter was founded in 1971 with Dr. Salud Javelosa as its founding President. Back in 1976, PPS members from Panay Island joined the PPS – Negros Occidental Chapter hence the name was changed to PPS – Negros Occidental Western Visayas Chapter. In 2016 with the advent of the One Island – One Region concept, PPS Negros Occidental left the Western Visayas group and formed

PPS-NOC Dengue Awareness and Prevention Lecture
The PPS-NOC held a successful dengue awareness and prevention lecture at the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City last July 16, 2024. The event was attended by doctors, nurses, and medical representatives from various district hospitals and municipal and city health offices.
Dr. Altea Belera and Dr. Lilac Mared Sollesta led the informative session, covering the basics of dengue, diagnostics, prevention, and the latest management strategies.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event impactful for our community's health and safety.

The PPS-Negros Occidental Chapter Committee on Dengue had a community lecture about dengue prevention, educating attendees on prevention, symptom recognition, and the importance of early detection at the People's Hall, Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City last June 25, 2024.

The Philippine Pediatric Society – Negros Occidental Chapter (PPS-NOC) Committee on To***co and V**e conducted a community lecture entitled: The Truth about Smoking and Va**ng by Dr. Terence Par, a Pediatric Pulmonologist, at the People’s Hall, Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City.
To***co and va**ng products contain harmful substances that can damage the lungs and lead to long-term health issues, including addiction, respiratory problems, and cardiovascular diseases. The PPS-NOC stands united in our commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of our children.
Together, we can create a healthier, safer future for our youth. 🙂
