Politics: Abortion- Pro-Choice vs. Pro-Life
Hello everyone! Christian and I (Jonathan) are continuing our politics series. On the last episode, "Politics: Where Do We Begin?", we spent some time laying the foundations for political discussions and thoughts. So, I would recommed listening to that podcast first, before listening to this one.
On this podcast, we are discussing the topic of abortion. This has obviously become a very heated topic, and it has been for a long time. There are typically two sides of the argument. There is the pro-life side, which defends the idea that abortion is wrong, since it is the ending of a life. People who belive this view, typically see life beginning at conception. Then the argument goes, that if the life begins at conception that an abortion at any stage of the pregnancy would be considered murder of a person. The other major view has typically be called pro-choice. Pro-choice people believe that since an abortion has to do with the body of a mother, then the mother of the fetus should be the sole decider whehter or not to contine the pregnancy. Typically, most pro-choice defenders believe that a baby does not become a person until it is viable outside of the mother's womb.
Now, there are obviously some specifics that differ, but these are the main viewpoints. In this podcast, Christian and I talk about the arguments from both sides, give some specific examples, explain the development of the fetus in the woman's body, and give our thoughts on both pro-choice and pro-life. Christians specifically need to know which side of this debate they should stand on. Is it better for a Christian to be pro-choice or to be pro-life. Can you even be a Christian and be dogmatic about one or the other? We also get into some of the new laws that are being voted on in November. No matter which side of the debate you stand on, we believe you will find this podcast beneficial as you hear the arguments from both sides, and as you learn more about the science and philosophy that adds to this discussion.

Recently, the Lord has put the story of Habakkuk on my mind. I heard about or from this minor prophet at least 6 or 7 times within 2 weeks! I knew God wanted me to take a look at it after I heard from it just the first time or two! It is a small book of the Bible (only 3 chapters) that is the thoughts and words of the prophet Habakkuk and the thoughts and words of our God, Yahweh. So, I decided to take some time to dig into the book, using one of my favorite Bible study tools, Through the Word, which is an app/website that has a 8-15 minute teaching on every single chapter of the BIble! I combined that with my own Bible study and God has revealed some interesting ideas to me. Specifically, God spoke to me about two very particular truths that I believe would be encouraging and exhorting for every believer in Jesus Christ!

The Perfect Christian (Sermon by Jonathan Jenkins)
Does the perfect Christian exist? Often times, we judge other Christians and say they aren't good Christians, or that person isn't really saved. We also will come across many people who call Christians and Christian leaders hypocrites because they fall short or struggle with sin. Other times, we say that certain Christians are great Christian people. Or we will say that person doesn't do anything wrong. It all begs the question: does the perfect Christian exist? Can Christians be good Christians, dedicated to the Lord if they still have struggles with sins? How good of a Christian does someone have to be to be a pastor, church leader, teacher, evangelist, etc. Well in this podcast, I (Jonathan) dive into a passage in Romans 7, where Paul talks about his struggle with sin. I believe in that passage, that Paul gives us characteristics of what a truly perfect Christian is like. Tune into this sermon as I share what scripture teaches about this issue!

Coach/Campus Pastor Steve Edwards of Brewton Parker College Interview
Greetings everyone! In this podcast, Christian and I had the opportunity to interview a mentor that is dear to our hearts, Steve Edwards. He serves as the women's basketball head coach and the campus pastor at Brewton Parker College in Mt. Vernon, GA. BPC is where Christian and I both got our B.A. degrees in Christian Studies. During our years at BPC, coach Edwards was one of our closest mentors. He has been in ministry for many years, and has a lot of God stories to share, along with advice for ministers. Throughout this podcast, Steve shares his story and discusses his life as a minister. Throughout the conversation, we spent a lot of time just discussing ministry from all of our perspectives and sharing some important advice from experience and scripture about "Ministry Lifers" as Steve called it! It was a great discussion and we are excited to share it with all of you!

Hello everyone! On this podcast, I (Jonathan Jenkins) am sharing a sermon I preached to my church. This sermon is a summary of a month's worth of teaching True Love Waits to the youth at my church. There is a lot that is covered and many questions that are answered regarding this issue. I start out by talking about what TRUE love is, what kind of relationships do we have, etc. Then I get into the topic of s*x and how God through His word deals with that issue. Finally, I summarize with a response for the Gospel. This is a much needed message today to clear up many misunderstandings and abuses found within the s*xual culture that we live in. This is one of those topics where we need to stand firm on the Word of God as Christians! What is sin and what does God allow? Maintaining Faith in God After Losing a Loved One

June 1, 2013 was a day that changed my life forever. I’ll never forget the day that my family, friends, and I all stood around the hospital bed in the hospice house and witnessed my mother, Teresa Jenkins, take her last breath. It felt like the world came to a screeching halt that day. Nothing felt real. It was, by far, the hardest day of my entire life. It has been almost 11 years since her passing. 11 years. There is so much that has happened in life since then, including in my spiritual life. Now, 11 years later, I have been working at a funeral home for 3 years. I have been a pastor for a little over 7 years. I have had the privilege of helping many people through the most difficult parts of their lives. One of my biggest concerns is how can I encourage people in maintaining their faith in God after losing a loved one. What are some practical steps that Jesus followers (Christians) can take to maintain their faith? Let me dive into my personal journey and share with you some of the helpful tips I have learned, and some truths that scripture teaches us about losing a loved one.
