Today is the feast day of my patron or confirmation saint, Elizabeth of Hungary.

I have had a true love and devotion to St. Elizabeth of Hungary since I was very young and chose to dress up as her one year for All Saints' Day. I love that she was devoted in caring for not only her husband and children, but also others especially the poor. The miracle of bread tirming into roses has always fascinated me. And the fact that she was a princess only made me love her more as a little girl.

I recently learned that today is World Pancreatic Cancer Day and the month of November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month. I go purple for my grandma who just a year and a half ago passed away after battling pancreatic cancer.

I chose to make and sell St. Peregrine earrings in honor of my grandma who had 2 separate battles with cancer and chose to ask for his intercession.

On this Veteran's Day, I am thankful for my veteran husband who served in the Navy along with all veterans and active duty service members. Thank you for your sacrifice and willingness to defend and protect our country.

I don't know about you, but I love a beautiful sunset. Watching the sun slowly descend across the sky and light up the sky in an array of various colors brings me such joy and appreciation for God's spectacular creation. 🌄

Today, marks the day 105 years ago a large crowd witnessed the sun miraculously dance across the sky in Fatima as a sign of Our Lady's appearance to 3 shepherd children with a message from heaven. With my love for sunsets, I try and imagine what it must have been like to witness such a miracle of nature assembled by God on that day in 1917. What a wondrous thing to have witnessed! ☀️

Since today is St. Francis' feast day, I decided I'd share about my fluffy business partner here at Ora Pro Nobis Jewelry. Whether she is nearby supervising me as I make each pair of earrings or standing watch over the printer making sure everything turns out perfectly, my cat Kyrie loves to support me and encourage me as a small business owner. 😸

St. Francis was far more than just a lover of animals. He had such great wisdom to share with the world through all that he did in caring for the poor and promoting and spreading the faith. The following quote is one of my favorites from him.

"Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible."

This quote in a sense describes how Ora Pro Nobis Jewelry came to be. For me, starting this small business seemed impossible, but with the encouragement from most especially my husband I started by doing the small necessary and possible tasks and here I am selling my earrings with you today.

The same principle applies to our daily living out of our faith. So often living our faith out in our daily lives and striving for holiness seems impossible. But, if we just start with what is necessary and possible, then soon we find ourselves doing what we thought was impossible.

May the wisdom and great faith of St. Francis bring you encouragement today.

I absolutely love this "little," but mighty saint! She has inspired many through her Little Way of loving and serving God. She also promised to continue working in heaven as an intercesser by sending down a shower of roses from heaven. Thank you St. Therese for showing us what it means to become a great saint.
