Self-care doesn’t always have to be costly or consist of hours out of the house that you don’t have.

1. Make a playlist or have Alexa or Spotify curate something special for you and your kiddos to start the day off right with some dancing and laughing together. Plus, it makes for fantastic family memories.

2. A good meal can do wonders for your soul. You can have fun teaching your littles about healthy foods and feel accomplished creating something new and delicious.

3. Take a moment in the day to actively focus on what you’re grateful for. This could be on a walk, in the shower, or while you brew your coffee for the day.

4. Whether it’s around the block, in a nearby park, or nature trail, take a walk on your own or with family or your pet to get fresh air, vitamin D, and physical exercise.

5. Did you know that there are a ton of virtual tours for free and cheap that you can take of beautiful gardens, art galleries, historical landmarks, different countries, etc.? Enjoy the Escape.

6. This could be decluttering your workspace, your bathroom sink area, a bedroom drawer, etc. A quick declutter can help you feel accomplished and give you some mental clarity.

7. Whether it’s sending a long-distance friend a gift, letter, or text to let them know you’re thinking of them to making meals for the local homeless, doing something nice helps you create connections and feel a sense of purpose.

8. When was the last time you took a break from a screen? Put your phone, computer, and iPad away for at least one hour a day and disconnect to enjoy some reading, taking up a new hobby, or personal connection time with your loved ones.

9. Letting yourself get lost in a show or audiobook can help you destress and let go of the anxiety that’s been weighing on you.

10. Drink a cup of coffee and take a 20-minute nap (set an alarm). When your nap ends, you’ll have the caffeine kicking in and will have some newfound energy to keep pushing through the day. (Tip: Time this during your kids nap or quiet time so they have something to keep them busy for those 20 minutes.)

Are discovery calls keeping you down?

As someone who despises public speaking and talking about myself, the whole concept of a "discovery call" made my imposter syndrome scream "NOOO" and had me secretly wishing people would stop booking them.

But I can't say that's good for business 😂

So I did the only thing I had control over and I started to prep for them in a way that not only gave me the opportunity to learn about my client but gave me confidence in knowing that I actually had a place in their business.

Try these the next time your nerves take over when someone books a discovery call:

✨ Audit Your Client's Online Presence

✨ Assess How Your Services Align

✨ Understand the Ways You Fit Into Their Vision

I consider myself extremely fortunate to enjoy my day-to-day work and the difference I get to make in my clients' businesses.

More importantly, I feel lucky that I LOVE working with my clients and admire the heck out of all the work they put in every day and the heart they throw into every aspect of their business.

Working with your ideal clients is a dream come true, but it can't just be about you.

Your client should feel like they are working with their ideal [insert job title here] too!

So how can you nurture your client relationships, give them an ideal experience working with you, and build a business partnership on mutual trust and respect? Here are a few ways to start:

👉 Take the time to know them, their business, and how you best fit into it all. You can't possibly know if you don't ask and it's painfully obvious when you don't care. If you want your client to believe in you, take a moment to be inspired, get invested in their mission and what they do, and show them how much you believe in them.

👉 Personalize your service. This doesn't mean showering them with gifts daily (as nice as that sounds), but simply going out of your way to anticipate your client's needs. Be intentional. Not only do you want to deliver what was promised, but putting that extra effort into your work to show them that they aren't just a revenue stream makes a world of a difference.

👉 Communicate. We all know how frustrating it can be when someone leaves you high and dry. Consistent and clear communication about expectations, roadblocks, and exciting ideas puts you on the same page and eliminates the guessing game on both ends. Communication is about trust. Without trust, there is little hope for a positive relationship.

Have you evaluated how your marketing strategy has been helping or hurting your business? It's always important to reassess and freshen up those tactics if you want different results.

✅ Make sure your books are balanced!

Don't let those numbers get away from you. It's important to stay on top of your business' finances. You don't want to be caught running around trying to figure it all out when taxes are due or the numbers don't add up.
