Unfortunately Sam didn't make counts today so we will wait until Thursday for more blood work & IV meds in VT. Everything happens for a reason & his body just needs more time to bounce back. He's on cloud nice right now thanks to Patty for delivering his new chickens. We can't thank you enough for putting a smile on little man's face. We appreciate you more then you know.

Update of Samuel diVincenzo

He didn't make counts for his port placement tomorrow. As bummed as we are it's okay. It will happen in due time. So at this give time Sam is what they call neutropenic. So we will be hunkered down at home & will keep a close eye on him for any signs of fever. We will be having another blood draw on Thursday. Thanks for the continued loved, support & most of all prayers. We appreciate each & everyone of you. 🎗️💞

So it's been a hot minute since I updated everyone. Sam's been doing great making counts for all his procedures & treatments. Doctors have been stocked to be honest with how well his numbers are holding. They thought by now he would have dropped much more & would have needed a transfusion or platelets if not both by this point in this phase of treatment. They keep saying how amazed they are with him. This kids my hero he's been so great through everything so far.

Monday he will have his blood drawn again to see if he makes counts for his port placement on Tuesday. Fingers crossed he is all set & they can go forward with that. So send all the positive vibes his way & cross your figures he is able to get that port placed. We want to thank everyone for the continued prayers, support & love. Y'all are a wonderful.

Sam has finished his induction period & has been home since May 18th. His blood work continues to look good as we have continued to travel back & forth weekly for his continued weekly treatment. We're normally in VT Friday through monday for his lumbar punctures, chemotherapy, PICC line dressing change & weekly blood work.

He has since been able to visit his teacher & classmates for a brief visit & walk to the library with them. His spirits have much brighter since being able to spend sometimes home. I get back to some of the thinks he knows & loves.

He still has some balance issues due to the long stay in the hospital & loss of muscle while being there. We will be starting at home physical therapy today which we look forward to. He also has a wonderful at home nurse that comes in 1-2 times a week to do checkup. He thinks she's funny & likes her visits. Otherwise he is going fantastic.

He's really looking forward to his birthday at the end of the month & setting up our chicken coop so that our chickens can finally come home after spending time with family while we were away.

We want to thank everyone for the continued prayers, support & love we've received. Y'all have been rock stars. We appreciate each & everyone of you. Thank you bunches!!

We're in the middle of planning a birthday parade celebration on his birthday at the end of the month. We're hoping people will join us in making it special. With his medical condition right now we don't feel comfortable having a traditional birthday party so we felt this is the best option for him this year. Finally out of the hospital for the day. PICC line in functioning properly again. So we're relaxing at the hotel until we're due back for chemotherapy tomorrow. Thank you everyone who reached out asking how things were going. ❤️❤️🎗️👽🛸

We're still in Burlington for Sam's IV meds. We're having to get to the hospital early today because I am unable to get his PICC line to flush this morning. Hopefully it's a simple fix. 🙏🙏 I'm really praying it's nothing more serious. Ugh 😩

A lot of people have since messaged me after my post about Sam's hair starting to fall out the other night. Many of you are wanting to buy Sam fun hats. Which we think is fantastic that any of you want to buy him hats. Sam has added some hats to his Amazon wish list. We can't express how thankful we are for all the love, prayers & support. We head home tomorrow for a few days before we head back got some inpatient meds & labs. Thank you all for the continued prayers & support! ❣️

Sam goes in today for his bone marrow retrieval and spinal fluid tap. Fingers crossed we receive good news. Send all your positive vibes & prayers his way. 💗💗

More of an update later it's been a busy few days..

Update on Sam...
They do believe that the source of his infection is from his PICC line. So this afternoon they removed the PICC line and put in an IV. They will place another PICC line sometime later in the week. We're hoping with that being done the infection subsides. Otherwise he seems to be having a better day than yesterday still not the greatest appetite nor does he have a lot of energy. But, he's eaten more today than he did yesterday. Here's to hoping we can kick this darn infection. Again thank you all for the continued love, support and prayers. 🥰

Sorry for the delay in updating everyone .. I was busy with doctors today & then drove home so I could take care of a few things.

Sam's fever broke early this morning. He is on antibiotics for the infection. He seems to be doing well otherwise. Very tired & not at all himself though.

He did love all the cards & gifts. We can't express how much we appreciate all of you. ❣️ Thank you a million for the love, support & prayers.

Update.
Sam had a rough night & has spiked a fever. They've started antibiotics & pulled blood work. Some of the test will take 24hrs to come back. Mean while they're hitting him with antibiotics & IV fluids while watching his fever very closely. 😭💔 Please keep him in your thoughts & prayers 🙏

Sam was having a bit of an off day mood wise. That's to be expected. He is over being in the hospital.

His labs are still on the good side. He did have to have an ultrasound of his arm where his PICC line is. They found a small blood clot. He started receiving blood thinners to fixed that. The blood clot is normal with one of them medicines he is receiving.

Otherwise everything is going well. We appreciate all your well wishes, love & prayers.💗💗💗

Hello everyone..
Quick update & we aren't certain when this will come about but for when Sam is allowed to leave the hospital. We will have to be here 3️⃣ times a week for outpatient. So we will be staying locally. But, the main purpose of this post is to ask for everyone from here on out to send any mail to norwood if you'd like to send anything. ❤️ We can't begin to express our love and gratitude for everything y'all have done for Sam and our family as we continue to navigate this. Samuel has a 2️⃣ to 3️⃣ year a journey ahead of him battling this awful disease. Thank you for your continued support and prayers. 💗

Update for Sam

Blood work looks good. His sugar was a little high so they changed his fluids up a bit. Otherwise it was a descent day. He was sleep most of the day but very talkative. He has plans to build a pizza shop at the farm & get hamsters in which he would call JoJo & Dino. We're about to take a bath & maybe do some school work it he is feeling up to it.

We want to thank everyone for all the cards & gifts. You don't even know how much it means to him & lifts his spirits! 💗💗💗

Sam had a good day. He slept about 11hrs last night but woke up in a good mood. He ate then got down on his mat & played for awhile. He was able to take a bath today & spent sometime drawing afterwards. He ate & drank pretty well so over all it was a good day for him.
