Thank you to our Bierbaum and MOSAIC families for entrusting us to take your children over eight hours away for an incredible experience. Thank you to the Bierbaum and MOSAIC teachers for providing guidance, comfort and encouragement for our students as they experienced new challenges in the Smoky Mountains. From hiking, to playing in the streams, to singing camp songs, many memories were formed over the past three days.
We just passed Paducah. We have an estimated time of arrival to MOSAIC at 9:35pm. See you soon!
We were stuck in traffic for over an hour. Our arrival will now be after 9pm. I’ll keep everyone updated with our travels.
We left Tremont about 45 minutes ago. We will provide updates on our location throughout the day.
A night around the campfire is the best place to be!
A great way to end our evening. Goodnight everyone.
Happy Birthday, Ejla!
Water investigations in the near by creek. There were many interesting insect discoveries found by our students.

Yes. It's as cold as it looks. But so worth it!
Does it get any better than this?
Checking today's forecast. It's going to be beautiful!
Today we explored Girl Scout Island during our Tremont Expedition. So many fun discoveries!
Hiking, exploring nature, and rock painting.

Not even 30 minutes off the bus and we were on the trails!
Breakfast time!
Now in Mount Vernon and beginning to head south for Paducah.
As of right now, the weather for Tremont looks great for next week. Low 70s for the high and evening temperatures in the mid 40s. There is no rain in the forecast, but since we are in the mountains, prepare for anything.
Good Afternoon Tremont Families,
I had the opportunity to meet with our students this morning to discuss Tremont and give them an overview of the trip. They were excited about the trip and had many questions. I was able to answer their questions, but there are a few items I wanted to share with you as well. This is a long email, so please be sure to read through it carefully for all important information.
First, a reminder to our families to complete the breakfast/dinner forms found below. Please complete these forms no later than Monday, April 18th.

Per Mehlville School District medication policy, medications for the trip must be in the original pharmacy label containers in a zip lock bag with the student's name printed clearly on the bag. Medications will not be accepted in any other form. Medications will be collected by our school nurse in MOSAIC's gym prior to the students boarding the school bus. The nurse will dispense over-the-counter medications to students as needed while on the trip (medication list found below.) We ask that our families provide a doctor's note for all prescribed medications (Zyrtec, Claritin, dramamine, or any other medications not listed below.) Doctor's notes can be faxed to 314-467-7949.

Trip Reminders
Please take the week to practice with your child rolling and unrolling their sleeping bag. This will be very helpful when we pack up to return to MOSAIC on Friday. Each child should be able to pack their belongings in one duffle bag (no suitcases) and one backpack. Duffle bags will go in the cargo area on the bus and will not be accessible to the students as we are traveling to Tremont. Anything they would need for the travel to and from Tremont should be placed in their backpack. I would like to encourage all students to leave electronics at home. Once again, this is about disconnecting from technology and connecting with nature. The students can bring a healthy snack (peanut and nut free) for the bus ride to Tremont. However, snacks will not be allowed once we are at Tremont.
We ask that each family arrive at MOSAIC by 9pm on Tuesday, April 26th. Please park in our lower or top parking lot. We will be using the playground lot to load the bus. The bus will leave promptly at 10pm with an estimated arrival to the Tremont area by 7:30am on Wednesday morning. We will return to MOSAIC on Friday, April 29th at approximately 8:30pm. I will provide updates on the trip's page of our location when driving to Tremont and our drive home.
I also want to include once again the supply list for the trip. I highly suggest packing your child's clothes in one gallon zip lock bags labeled for each day (ex. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday). This helps your child keep their clothes organized, and their duffle bag dry should any clothes get wet.
What to Bring for the Tremont Trip
- a sleeping bag, OR 1 or 2 blankets
- 2 single bed sheets

Thank you everyone for joining the page. We will use this page to communicate with our families as we travel to and from Tremont. We will also post daily pics of your children enjoying their time at Tremont.
In the meantime, have your child practice rolling and unrolling their sleeping bag. This will come in handy when we get to Tremont. I also want to encourage our families to pack a two or three galling zip lock bags for wet clothes.
