Boys have started the season off strong as we head into spring break with a record of 4-0. Bats have been hot as we’ve produced 55 runs, but pitching has been extremely efficient overall in 4 games allowing only 9 runs. Always easier to work ahead and minimize pitch counts and these boys are doing just that with just over 4 pitches per batter, 27 strikeouts and 15 walks.

Tighten down a few fielding errors and we can expect to keep runs scored to a minimum.

Let’s keep working hard and trusting the process boys. In the end, let us never lose sight that it’s about bringing glory to Jesus.

Nothing to hang our head on but not our night to shine either. Balls were put in play, just right at the defense all night. Pitchers did their job with 9 strikeouts and only 3 walks.

** No Hitter Alert**

Was a long game for only 2.5 innings but we did our part to get on base, be aggressive, and put runs on the board.

Gracin threw a near perfect game going 2 innings with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts.

Back on the diamond tonight as we near the end of this season.

16/10/2021

**No Hitter Alert**

Boys came to play on both sides of the diamond today. Strong bats paved the way for Asher to go the distance with a 36 pitch shutout giving up 1-walk on no hits.

12/10/2021

Tonight wasn’t our night. But, if you’re gonna roll with the wins, you gotta learn to roll with some losses. Boys put the ball in play all night just couldn’t find the gaps.

Prospects opened up tournament ball today with a BIG come from behind win, but couldn’t come back from a first inning rally in game 2.

Good experience for these boys against some strong pitching, fielding and bats to open up fall tournament ball.

Prospects did it again today. Al and Brayden combined for a no hitter with 5 strikeouts and only giving up 2 walks on the day.

NO HITTER Alert! Prospects parlayed Thursdays performance and their hard work paid off! We sent 4 to the mound today for an inning of work each…and they didn’t disappoint. The 4 combined for a 48 pitch no hitter. With only 4 strikeouts and 2 walks, the ball was put into play throughout the 4 innings, but a tight and error-free defense supported a strong outing on the mound.

At the plate: 7 hits, 5 walks and 0 strikeouts paved the way for the prospects offense. Mike and Al had a day and led the way with 2 hits each. Al sent 2 across the plate to lead the team in RBIs.

At the plate: 6 hits and 2 walks set up some fast feet on the bases to put 3 runs on the board. Gracin led the way with 2 RBIs on the night.

On the mound: BIG night for # two-three as he left his mark in a 5 inning complete game with 10 strikeouts and 4 walks on 81 pitches. Backed into a corner in a couple innings Hunter worked out of the jam. Backed by a calm demeanor and strong defense, he left a blank on the board.

Great W tonight. Time to press forward continuing to grow on and off the field.

15/09/2021

Prospects move to 3-0 on the season after a Win tonight. Have some work to do over fall break as we face some tougher competition ahead.

On the mound: boys weren’t perfect, but they combined for a NO HITTER. What could have been a disastrous 1st inning with 3 hit batters ended with Gracin allowing no runs on the board and 3 strikeouts. Mike came in strong going 3 up 3 down striking out the side in the 2nd. Colton got his work on the mound for the first time and carded his 1st strikeout.

At the plate: 6 hits and 5 walks gave the boys some time to work on base running. Al Frankel led the way with 2 hits on the night.

14/09/2021

Another W on the diamond last night for the Prospects. Plowed through pitchers to keep the boys working and some new ones gaining experience on the mound. Walks were a bit high, but the 5 combined for a 1 hit game.

At the plate, we put 10 hits in play. Gracin and Colton led the crew with 2 hits each.

Boys are back at it tonight at 7:45.

We came up short in the championship game tonight to a hungry and big hitting Express team.

As a coach, we moved these boys up a year early to see better competition in hopes of growing. I wasn’t really sure, but it sounded like the right thing to do. In the end, I have no regrets. These boys grew tremendously and played the big one to end the season.

For the season (16 games), we finished with a 13-2-1 record with a team batting average just below .600 scoring over 170 runs while allowing only 72.

For a young first year 12u team, I will take that as a foundation to build upon. I learned a lot in this first season managing the team and will adjust for the next season. Thanks to my coaching crew that I couldn’t have made it without. Each of you play a special part in this teams success.

Last but certainly not least...I love each of you boys and your families. Keep your heads up and hearts big. We Are better together!

05/11/2020

What a ballgame! Prospects had to scrap and fight for the 4-2 win tonight to advance to the championship tomorrow.

Asher commanded the mound for a complete game throwing 79 pitches with 6 strikeouts and 1 ER.

Mike and Al had 2 bug hits to lead the way for the prospects while Noah owned the bases with 5 stolen bases and 2 runs scored.

Tomorrow night at 6:15 this season comes down to 1 game for the PC 12u championship. Come join us at New Georgia field 2 for what is promised to be a great game.

What a way to end the regular season. Manning always fields a tough Express team and last night was no different as it was one of those games that makes us all better. Hard work and training paid off as these boys bats came alive. What a great group of boys I get to coach!

Let’s go give the post season our best Prospects!

Prospects ended the regular season with a big win and a record of 10-1-1 going into post season tournament next week. We took these boys up a bracket to play more competitive ball this season, and they rose to the challenge and grew tremendously as a result.

As I tell them often, there are players that panic and players that press. These kids pressed all season long for some come back wins and hard fought games.

On the Mound:
Noah pitched a beauty, but fielding errors yielded 5 runs in the 2nd. Al pitched the final 2 innings backed by strong defense and big bats to get the win.

At the plate:
Mike, Al, and Brayden all had multiple hits to lead the prospects. Agressive base running kept us in scoring position.

So proud of these boys last night. We had a tough weekend beating ourselves with simple errors, but they out that in the trash can and came last night ready to play against a team that pushed us hard the last time we met.

Coaching isn’t always easy and isn’t always fun, but it is always worth it!

After a series of having to fight back for wins and a weekend that we let slip away, these boys came ready to play a win big last night.

On the Mound:
Asher went the complete game. Backed by a down and ready defense, he allowed only 1 hit and 1 run with 3 strikeouts.

At the Plate:
Asher padded his own lead going 2 for 2 with a bases loaded-bases clearing shot down the right field line to blow the game open. Mike also went 2 for 2 with 2 deep balls in the gaps. Brayden put his off field work to use with a big hit in the 3rd inning.

Patient plate work produced 8 walks on the night.

We wrap up our regular season this Friday night at 8pm.

Tonight a hard playing Aces put our undefeated season to rest. They came to play hard and win, and they did just that. We fought back in the bottom of the 4th but hit into a game ending pop fly with RISP.

You can never just “show up to the ball field”, but rather always show up ready to play your best. Tonight, we learn!

Great job tonight Aces!
