A talented group of Walter Sisulu University students has been shortlisted for the prestigious Entrepreneurship Development in Higher Education (EDHE) programme.

The Intervarsity Studentpreneurs competition is designed to encourage and support student entrepreneurship across universities, fostering innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial skills among university students.

This initiative provides them with invaluable opportunities to develop and pitch their business ideas, paving the way for the next generation of entrepreneurs.

On this Youth Day, we celebrate the vibrancy, energy, and hope that young people bring to our world. We recognize their potential to shape the future and make a positive impact. As we honor their spirit, we also acknowledge the importance of guidance and mentorship from fathers and father figures. To all the dads out there, I'd like to say thank you for being a rock for your children, providing love, support, and wisdom as they navigate life's challenges. Your influence is invaluable, and I wish you a wonderful Father's Day filled with joy, appreciation, and quality time with your loved ones.

Walter Sisulu University joins EDHE collaborating with the British Council delivered by the The London School of Economics and Political Science - LSE for a groundbreaking residential program in the UK, delving into the complex issue of underrepresentation of women in entrepreneurship. Through a series of workshops, seminars, and networking sessions, this esteemed delegation of women from South Africa will gain valuable insights, skills, and connections to drive their entrepreneurial aspirations forward, fostering a more inclusive and equitable entrepreneurial landscape.

Empowering Women, Enriching Futures at Komani Campus as it Welcomes SWEEP! We were thrilled to introduce the Student Women Economic Empowerment Programme (SWEEP) to our campus, aiming to equip and inspire women students to achieve their economic and professional goals. From this day on we will embark on this exciting journey of empowering women and promoting a more inclusive and equitable society.

As a build up to the Student Entrepreneurship Week, WSU SWEEP Chapter Executive and Entrepreneurship Student Ambassadors will be hosting Empowerment Mixer in Komani Campus. The purpose is to introduce Entrepreneurship Development Programs and allow student to showcase their businesses for support.

The SDLG hosted the Entrepreneurship Umbrella event as we rally behind our members heading to Nairobi for the Hult Prize Competition! CFERi was in hand to provide expert coaching and mentorship to prepare our entrepreneurs for success on the regional stage. Let's support, empower, and inspire the next generation of changemakers!

Dear female entrepreneurs,
It's important to remember that mental health is a key component of overall well-being, and that it's okay to take a break from your business to focus on your mental health. As a leader, it's crucial to prioritize self-care in order to stay at the top of your game. So, take some time to rest, recharge, and renew. Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Your health and happiness are the most important things, and they are vital to the success of your business.

As a female entrepreneur, you have so much on your plate. It's not always easy to juggle all of the demands of running a business, and it's especially important to make sure that you take care of yourself in the process. I know that you have big dreams and goals, and I want to encourage you to put your mental health first so that you can continue to achieve those dreams and goals.

If you need support, please reach out to a trusted friend or family member, or speak to a mental health professional. There are also many online resources available, including the Institutions SCU. Remember, you are not alone, and there is help available. Your mental health is worth investing in, so please don't hesitate to seek out the support you need.
