I'm still in shock!
๐My dress was awarded GRAND CHAMPION at the KENTUCKY STATE FAIR Cloverville! ๐
I wish I had gotten a picture of all the other entries. The competition was steep ๐ฌ.
Again, I'm still in shock! ๐๐ฅฐ๐๐พ

Please help me bust my fabric stashโผ๏ธ
What would you like from these printsโ๏ธ
Most of these are smaller pieces so I can't do any large projects but I can definitely piece some together if needed and add solid coordinating fabrics as well.

I'm at market today until 12noon ๐
I just realized I have an album for cards that I never post in. ๐ค ๐คฆ๐ฟโโ๏ธ I have made more cards than you could imagine. I started 6 years ago at age 10. Here are two that I created just yesterday that were a special order.
I'm a little low on my stash that I keep on hand but I normally have some at market so if you're needing a quick, simple and thoughtful gift, come see me on Saturday. ๐
Last week I attended Camp Electricโก๏ธโผ๏ธ
This camp is a huge highlight of my summer and I ALWAYS look forward to it. This was my second year experiencing this memorable event. I had an absolute blast!
In June I took a palette knife oil painting class at The Janice Mason Art Museum. Another "first" for me. Here is what I created. ๐๐จ
โก๏ธ Often times at market I have men come by my spot and never find things they consider "for men". I do have masculine bookmarks and handy helper card holders that they sometimes buy. Some men like the hot handle holders to use while cooking and there have been masculine mug bags as well. I've even had unisex crossbody bags that a few men have considered but that's not the majority.
*๐งโโ๏ธCould you all help me think of products that would be useful for the guys? It doesn't have to be fabric items but of course that's what I have on hand the most. ๐
I need feedback! It's appreciated!
*Bonus points if you have a picture! ๐
Happy Saturday! I'm at market today until 12 noon. Just FYI, I'll be out of town all next week so I will not be back at market until July 17th.
*Picture is of a requested set of coasters "fisherman" themed. ๐
Here is a custom order of pot holders I made for a Louisville fan I met at market. ๐
Good beautiful morning, friends! ๐๐พ I'm at market today until 12 noon.
Guess who's at market today!
๐๐ฟโโ๏ธ ๐ฅณ It's been awhile.
Just sharing more memory pillows I recently made ๐คฉ
๐ฅฐ For those of you who don't know, the main reason I took on the challenge of creating the stained glass dress was to participate in the 2024 4-H Fashion R***e during the 100th year celebration at Teen Conference.
This was such a fun and interesting journey that I am completely new to. I wasn't awarded 1st place but I made it to the top 3 finalists.
๐ I'll take it!
Thank you 4-H for allowing me to participate and complete a year of being on the Fashion Leadership Board! It's been great!
Here is how the runway experience went. ๐
Happy Sunday everyone!
I haven't been able to post lately because I've been extremely busy. I also want to apologize for missing weeks and weeks of market. ๐ So much has happened and I'll try my best to use this post to catch you all up. ๐
(If you are friends with my mom on here, most of this will be a repeat so I apologize in advance.)
*STORYTIME ๐...
Remember the stained glass dress I've been working on for months? Well, things didn't go how I had originally planned. (Click on the album and see previous pictures of my sketch) The process was very time consuming and honestly, there was no way I would have completed it in time. So, I had to improvise and do the best I could with supplies on hand and the remaining time I had before its due date. Because I really didn't want to change my plans, I kept going until literally less than a week before it HAD to be done. In the pictures below I'll show some of the process and steps I took trying to complete the skirt portion that I didn't end up using in the final dress.
As for the final dress, I used a beautiful purple silk dress that someone had given me for fabric. It was like a size 4 ๐. Well, I decided to cut it, separating the top portion from the bottom. The bottom became the skirt of the final dress. Can you guess how I used the top portion of the purple?? Well, I cut the chest area separating the left breast cup from the right and used them as shoulder pads and sleeves for my corset / stained glass top. ๐ I thought that was a clever idea and great use of the fabric. To get the flowy effect I was going for with the sleeves, I needed to add more of a silk material. I searched my stash and found a black table cloth that worked PERFECTLY!
Needless to say, this turned into an upcycling project and I'm fine with that. ๐
There is more I could say but I'll stop. Thanks for reading this far. There are sooo many pictures missing of the steps taken so I apologize for that.
โจ๏ธLesson learned: Don't take on such a huge task and not plan time for mistakes to happen.
I tried something new today. Wood burning. Free styled this one.
My apologies.
I will not be at market today as I had planned. If you need something from me, feel free to send me a message. Thank you!
๐ฑWould you look at thatโผ๏ธ๐
I'm so excited! ๐๐ฅณ

Another year of AQS Quit Week in Paducah KY has come and gone. This event is always a fun, inspiring and educational experience for me that I look forward to each year.
There is SO MUCH I want to say about this year's experience but I'll save you all from reading a book long post. Just know, I met two incredible woman (Karen Nyburg, who is an astronaut ๐ฒ and Barbara McCraw) who are a total inspiration. Not just as quilters but woman who have a love and care for others. I learned so much from them in such a short period of time.
I also was able to see my good friend Mrs Julie's beautiful quilt displayed in the Cherrywood Monarch Challenge exhibit. I ALWAYS get so excited to see her work showcased because....well, that's MY FRIEND! ๐ฅฐ
Happy Saturday! Come see me!
New product alert. ๐
I'm at market today until noon.
๐๐พ Hello and Happy Sunday!
I'm participating in the Goodwill Meets 4-H Upcycling Challenge again this year. This time, I've chosen this skirt to be transformed into a 2 piece summer set with shorts and a jacket. I added lace trim on both articles and with the scraps I made a headband and a pair of earrings. This was FUNโผ๏ธ
I'm constantly learning and improving my skills by just trying new things. ๐ฅฐ
*Always thankful to 4-H for the many opportunities. ๐
Another first time experience in the books!
Oil Painting! ๐จ
Thank you Janice Mason Art Museum for this 2 day opportunity. The teacher, Mrs Lucy was so kind and patient and all the ladies in the class were a joy to learn with.
I had the pleasure of meeting these two sweet ladies last week at the UK Color Me Kentucky Fashion Show. I just want to give them a big shout out for the kindness they showed myself and our 4-H Fashion Leadership Board. They were very encouraging to me specifically, reminding me to be confident in my walk and talk and embraceing my beauty. Those are things us girls need to hear sometimes ๐ฅฐ. I was inspired by their long lasting friendship with one another and how well they work together. ๐ Thank you Mrs Tamara & Mrs Leigh for being a light in my word that day. ๐ฅฐ Hope to see you again in June!
Y'all check them out! Live from Chevy Chase Kytastebuds
