I enjoyed helping with the Rake a Thon last year. This year the event is Oct 26th-Oct 28th.

This city wide event serves individuals within the Sioux Falls city limits, Brandon, Harrisburg & Tea over the age of 60 who do not have family available in the area to help with their yard work and are not financially or physically able to do the work themselves. Individuals under 60 with a documented physical disability are also eligible.

Registration for participants and volunteers begins September 18th 2023, and goes through October 13th. Register using one of the links below or by calling.

I had fun helping with the One Book, One School project for Harrisburg Journey Elementary School. I cant wait to see the fun activities, dress up days and games they have planned around this book. The book will be revealed in March. Some schools in the Harrisburg School District started One book, One school in 2019. During class they read along or have celebrity readers. Each family gets a copy of the book to follow along too.

I had so much fun helping Dakota Spirit at the Valentine's Day Classic. 💕❤️ I handed out trophies for the cheer solos. I also got to watch my sister dance at her 1st dance competition. Thanks to Kruse PhotoGraphics for the autograph cards, loved handing them out.

Hair and Make Up Beauty Lounge Glamour Studio

My platform is "Stay Blended". It focuses on bringing awareness to blended familes. To show that a positive environment can still be present. I've been in a blended family since I was one year old. I have seen both the positive and negative effects. I don't want kids to feel like they have to choose sides. Instead, I want kids to feel like they have one big family, instead of two divided families.

This weekend I also went to Project Warm-Up. We brought 20 completed blankets that we made at a party a few weeks ago. While I was there we helped make alot more blankets too! It was fun making them with my sister queens. Great knowing that they are going to a good cause too.

This weekend I went to Lavas Annual Old Fashion Christmas. We saw santa and picked up some treats for a friend. We also went on a fun horse and carriage ride. The gentleman driving was telling jokes and was really funny. He said you can kiss the horse but you also have to kiss the driver. I am thankful for first responders. Especially the HarrisburgCommunity FireDept and Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Canton, SD. They do so much for our community. They answer the call day or night when people need it the most. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, by keeping us safe and healthy.

My Sister Lenora Celebrated her 7th birthday last night. She did a pageant theme and gave all her friends a sash describing them.

Happy Veterans Day! Brought some handwritten thank you cards to Scooters. Veterans can receive a free handcrafted drink of any size at Scooter’s Coffee on November 11th.

Today I donated food at Voyage Federal Credit Union for Feeding South Dakota. Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at any Voyage Branch location until November 23rd. Most needed food items: Canned vegetables, canned fruits, peanut butter, boxed meals, canned protein items such as chicken, tuna, and beans.

Thank you so much Hazel Johnson Miss Pre Teen South Dakota International 2023 for donating this blanket to my friend Jaiden! He is in the hospital now, but hoping he will be out in the next week or two. Then back for surgery in December. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Sarah Parmenter / Dez Parmenter
