Happy Mother's Day to all mothers, moms, mommas, mommies, mamas, mas, mga inay, and mga nanay out there π
A rule of thumb when arranging flowers: pick the smallest vase you can get away with πΈ
Each type of flower has a different "vase life." In an arrangement, some flowers will die faster than the others. When this happens, I try to salvage the good ones, prune the wilted blooms and leaves, and re-arrange what's left to give the remaining flowers another life.
Here are two arrangements made one week apart from each other using the exact same flowers (with the wilted ones taken off the second one of course).
This Easter weekend, we soft launched our Bubbles and Blooms experience πΎπ --- a one-of-a kind floral workshop where guests get to channel their creativity through floral design while enjoying some bubblies to help release ALL of their artistic energies π₯
Here are our amazing guests showing off their beautiful creations π They've had no experience in floral arrangement prior to this workshop, so it's been wonderful to see their unique styles shine through their finished product.
Bubbles and Blooms is just one of the many floral workshops we're concocting at Bay Area Blooms. Visit the link in our bio to sign up for news and updates on our future workshops! πΈ

extend the vase life of your blooms by cutting their stems at an angle --- this gives your flowers a wider surface area to absorb more water and stay well hydrated.
Some mums to brighten up your Monday πΈ
So excited to finally spring forward! πΌβοΈ
During the pandemic lockdowns, I built a lego set that resembled a flower bouquet. Just noticed that one of the pieces looks exactly like this chamomile that I used for one of my spring floral arrangements!

It's such a beautiful day this Monday in the bay (accidental alliteration?) βοΈ I planted these African Daisies last year and they came out blooming in full force this year even before spring! I LOVE a gorgeous perennial for effortless gardening πΌππ½ββοΈ
When it feels like spring is right around the corner...
Not gonna lie, the world seems very dim at the moment. Just when you think you've reached the light at the end of the tunnel, all of a sudden the tunnel gets longer. I'm thankful to have found an "escape" with flowers. For me, working with flowers and greeneries feel relaxing, in fact almost meditative. At a time like this, this little part of my life makes me feel grounded and, honestly, it gives my hands something else to do other than doomscroll on social media and news sites. I don't know where I'm going with this, but here's a photo of a pretty anemone I grew in my yard. Hope it puts a little smile on your face. πΈ
We've all had moments when we want to do something so bad but then our "need-to-do" list gets in the way. Of course, we're all adults with obligations that need to be met, however, we should allow ourselves the time and space to bring our happiness into the forefront once in a while (and no, we shouldn't have to wait until the weekend to do so).
Pick an activity today that brings you joy --- whether that's reading a book, doing a favorite hobby, or just surrounding yourself with nature. Stop procrastinating away your happiness. You owe it to yourself. β€
We're a long ways from summer but I can't help picking out these lovely sunflowers as they're just bursting with so much color. π» I wanted to highlight the beauty of each bloom, along with the white ranunculus and lupines, and so I came up with this somewhat wild and playful arrangement. It that reminds me a little bit of a freestyle ikebana π€

I found an adorable baby blue pitcher at a thrift store and felt inspired to create something playful and romantic. It makes these gorgeous white roses pop even more!
It has been feeling like spring for the past few weeks here in the bay area βοΈ Foraged a handful of lupines and field mustard to add to my floral arrangement. Very curious where these wildflowers will take me! πΌ
