As a journalist at a news station it’s hard to dress up to elaborate because you may be going to stories or breaking news and you want to always be professional. Instead of dressing up this year I’m wearing a shirt that is for a good cause called Scares That Care. They have raised and donated over $300,000 to organizations and families with a child affected by illness, burns or women fighting breast cancer. Hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween! 🎃 👻💀

Since I’ve covered or helped cover quite a few of the presidential candidates so far and this also goes for other candidates for other elections. I wanted to talk a little bit about the coverage and why it seems like some candidates have more time than others. Viewers always think when a candidate is visiting a location that local news is guaranteed an interview with that candidate. That is not always the case. This could be because of time constraints on their end or the candidate just may not want to talk to us. Other times they set it up where we will get a one on one Interview. We work hard to cover all of their events in the local area. We want our viewers to know as much as possible about the candidates they are voting for. Coverage is never In support of one candidate or the other. It’s just sometimes we weren’t even offered an interview or only get a single question or a couple at most. Even when we know we won’t get an interview from the candidate we usually still cover the event and try to pull sound bites from what they said on stage. The pictures I have aren’t even from all of the candidates I’ve covered or helped cover. Gives you an idea sometimes we are in with the national news channels and sometimes we get our own interview.
