Chef T’s is joining the state wide effort to stop fire ants from spreading to Oahu by taking samples on their premises for fire ants and sending the tests to the Hawai‘i Department of Agriculture for identification.
You can easily take tests—here’s how:
simply place a thin smear of peanut butter on the end of disposable chopsticks, place the sticks around the yard in shady places. Collect the sticks after one hour and place any sticks with ants in a ziptop bag.

Place the ziptop bag in the freezer overnight to kill the ants, then mail or drop off the ants to HDOA at 1428 S. King St., Honolulu, HI 96814.
