Agenda 2019

This Agenda encompasses both structural and infrastructural plans for student welfare.

-Structural

1) Taaleem: Reviving Hindu’s Academic Culture

 Learning and Resource Centre: In light of the fact that not everybody has access to the wealth of knowledge available online, a learning and resource centre will be developed in the library to ensure that access to internet for research and academic purposes is available to everyone. This will be accomplished by repurposing the existing computers meant for searching stack halls within the library, and adding a few more to the ones already present. To prevent conflict in usage or hoarding of the resource, bookings will have to be made in advance through the librarian.

 A Tale of Two Books: A book week will be organised twice a year wherein students will exchange interdisciplinary reading material to acquaint themselves with a subject of their interest, which they might not naturally encounter an opportunity to study in their time at the university. This will be followed by a review at the end of the week.

 Sessions will be organised where students will be able to interact with Hindu alumni, regarding career and post-graduation options, in order to broaden their knowledge about the opportunities available to them in the future, and to better understand the professional endeavours that they are planning to undertake.

 Study circles will be organised in which students from various disciplines may participate to enhance their engagement with their discipline, and obtain a better understanding of the subject.

 A biannual Parliamentary newsletter shall be published. This will be accompanied by the initiation of an institutional or student life blog (E-journal).

 Library and Books.

• The library shall remain open for use by students till 8 P.M.
• It will be ensured that all the reference books prescribed (both in Hindi and English) by the University for each and every course be made available in the Library.
• The library will be stocked with updated versions of the available books so as to prevent inconvenience to the students.
• The stock of books will be increased as per student demand through a feedback mechanism.
• The stock of Braille study material provided in the library will be vastly increased.
• Audio books will be made available on an online portal for use by the students.

2) Zubaan: Inclusivity despite diversity

 Public Speaking sessions will be organised in collaboration with English Debating Society as well as Vagmi: The Hindi Debating Society, to vocalize the students and give them a voice and platform to share their feelings and sentiments about events in the college, and the surrounding culture at large.

 Appointments of College Event Heads and Volunteers will be made through thorough, extensive and rigorous procedures, with transparency and fairness of the procedure being a primary focal point.

 Digital Transparency: Expenditures, regarding college events or otherwise, will be made available on an online portal so as to ensure that each student, irrespective of their participation in the parliament is aware of financial transactions being undertaken by those who have been elected.

 Cosmopolitan: The Cultural Interaction Platform. Voluntary participation will be made available in a discussion cm presentation organised for encouraging cultural exchange including multi-lingual, folk music, literature, dramatics and regional folktale exchange.

 Readings in multiple languages will be made available at the Library, especially in Hindi language.

 Collaboration among registered societies will be encouraged, not only to help increase the scale of events but also to stimulate cooperation and conversation between them.
