oftentimes we don’t realize how much we are in our own way in our own lives. while it’s true that we’re all dealing with something, we should never forget our higher purpose and reason. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

self care isn’t this elaborate, lengthy sunday afternoon ritual with cute candles. it’s a holistic thing - mind body and spirit. at the core it’s really about self awareness + self preservation (if you learn anything from this page, i hope it’s this!) it is also about how we can use this to fulfill ourselves, destress, reconnect & also pour into our relationships.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

for many, stress and burnout are a continuous theme to conquer, especially as we creep closer towards holiday season and the end of the calendar year.
remember that navigating a perpetual state of stress isn’t ever sustainable no matter how hard you try to make it work.
here are a few gentle suggestions for you to try if you’re feeling overwhelmed or at capacity. these are simple yet highly effective activities that we often overlook and underestimate. sometimes the simplest tools are the most efficient to use.
rest when you can, if only for a few minutes, be sure to take the time for yourself! 🤎

(fun, not-so-fun fact: i fractured my ankle during this hike before this photo 🥴) so, as im sitting in bed resting my ankle & typing this, i figured this was an appropriate topic ☺️
what i’ve realized over time is that stillness allows us to find out what truly moves us the most in life. in fact, most of my breakthroughs have occurred following regular and intentional periods of stillness. i view it as an intentional break of peace that can be practiced in many ways.
a common misconception is that stillness just literally sitting still and nothing more. the truth is, its much more than that. it’s truly a holistic practice of the mind, body and spirit.
✨ stillness of the mind can mean just being fully present or just sitting & reflecting..
✨stillness of the spirit can look like taking time to address painful wounds or healing your inner child..
✨ stillness of the body can looking like spending intentional time outdoors or getting ample sleep..
stillness can be whatever we allow it to be but it doesn’t just happen, we have to be intentional by making time for it and practicing it regularly. many times we are often doing way too much! we say ‘yes’ too much, we take on too much and we don’t make enough time for the in between. the reflection, restoration and deliberation of stillness is the bridge that connects us to our sought destinations.

in life’s journey people will try hard to make you feel as though you aren’t good enough. and sometimes that person can even be ourselves. so, let’s get into it👇🏽
many times we have become emotionally triggered by things we see, people’s actions, words, decisions, etc. we blindly take on these emotions sometimes without asking, “why did that comment make me so angry or sad?”
the truth is that observing these thoughts and patterns allow us to understand ourselves better and discover what needs to be healed in order to be our best selves.
next time you’re triggered by a comment directed to you, lean into the why and take action into correcting it.
here are a few ways to practice seeing the good in yourself:
