How to get the most out of your SISU candle...

✨When you burn your candle for the first time you need to let it burn for about 3 hours so there is an even layer of melted wax across the entire surface. Without allowing the wax an even layer you will start to see tunnels and uneven surfaces.

✨Trim your wick with a wick trimmer before each use and dispose of the trimming. Using scissors will ruin your wick. Keeping wicks at 1/8″ is so important. It will prevent your candle from smoking.

✨Don’t move a hot candle. If there is hot, melted wax in your candle the slightest movement will cover the wick, which will ruin your candle.

✨Don’t blow your candle out. Use a snuffer instead. Blowing out candles causes the wax to become uneven and creates smoke.

✨Light your candles with matches. Using a longer match will prevent a black ring from developing on the inside of your candle. If you choose to use a lighter, make sure to wipe the inside clean once the wax has hardened.

My Grandparents immigrated to the United States from Finland in 1956. They didn’t have much but they worked hard and built an incredibly beautiful life for our family. They instilled in me the idea of Sisu from a young age. I knew that life could be hard but if you persevered through the difficult times, you could come out the other side as something amazing. My Grandparents inspired my Sisu journey and I’ll never forget that with quiet perseverance and strength, you can achieve anything. I hope my candles will inspire your own Sisu as well as bring happiness and hope to your home and life.
