For those who identify as black, the world can often feel like a hostile place where in being seen as a threat, your identity, life and livelihood are often threatened. To speak up often means to be shut down.
For WhileX’s inaugural issue, we invite you to reflect on what it means to be black within different contexts – whether that is while reading, watching TV, seeking medical care, exercising, parenting, dating, shopping, renting, learning, or any other experience of living. How has being black shaped your experience of the world?
This issue seeks to shed light on experiences related to being black so that others may find themselves in the stories shared by people like them.
