Do you have trouble with setting goals and not reaching them? Maybe your approach isn’t structured enough. When we work together, I encourage you to establish SMART goals. Have you tried this before?
This approach eliminates generalities and guesswork, sets a clear timeline, and makes it easier to track progress and identify missed milestones.
S - Specific
In order for a goal to be effective, it needs to be specific. A specific goal answers questions like: What do I want to accomplish? Who is involved? What steps need to be taken to achieve it?
M - Measurable
Specificity is a solid start, but quantifying your goals (that is, making sure they’re measurable) makes it easier to track progress and know when you’ve reached the finish line. Quantify your goals by determining: How much? How many? How Often?
A - Achievable
This one I emphasize OFTEN. Make sure the goals you are looking to achieve are realistic. There is nothing worse than setting a goal you are unlikely to accomplish, but even more so, are only driven by the HOPE that you can. This leads to disappointment and often discourages you from continuing all together.
R- Relevant
This one encourages you to take a step back and evaluate where this sits on your priority list. Does this align with your over-arching goals? Does this seem worthwhile? Make sure this is something that you WANT to achieve and that it feels right.
T - Time Bound
Goals without timelines are just hopes and dreams. Every goal needs a target date, so that you have a deadline to focus on and something to work toward.
I’d love to help you establish some SMART goals for yourself! 📝

Have you ever considered seeing a Dietitian?
Dietitians are an important part of your health care team. Working with a dietitian is proven to help you prevent, manage, and sometimes reverse chronic diet-related disease.
Just as you would see your primary care physician annually, it is equally as important to see a dietitian annually.
Make yourself a priority, and send me a message! 💜
I am not the best at churning out regular content.. but I need to do better at showing up for you guys!

“EAT THIS. NOT THAT.”
I’m sure you have had someone tell you “you shouldn’t eat that.. that’s ‘BAD’ for you” or “that is ‘HEALTHY’ food”.
Not to be confused with “this is a better choice” or “you should eat this daily for good health”.
Want to know something?
Foods DO NOT belong in a good or bad category.
ALL foods can be HEALTHY.
Read that again.
We live in a society that so FREELY uses these terms.
Why are we demonizing foods?
Why is there shaming of certain foods, or better yet, shaming others for eating certain foods?
Even the words “guilt-free”, belong in this discussion. I actually hate this term with a passion. Food should NEVER make someone feel “guilt”.. I do not care WHAT it is.
By assigning moral value to food or giving it a “health halo”, you make choices that may not necessarily align with your nutritional needs. I cannot emphasize this enough.
This approach can becoming restricting, especially when it impacts your social life, your enjoyment, or relationship with food.
Do not validate this good versus bad diet culture. If you don’t have a good relationship with food, you lose sight of what a healthy intake actually looks like.
DITCH THE DIET MENTALITY
My job is NOT to put you on a diet.
The title “Dietitian” can be a confusing term. To many, it implies that I put you on a strict “diet” to get you to your goal weight or that I get you set up on some detox to “cleanse” your system and shed some pounds. I’ve had so many people misinterpret what it is that I do.
I’m here to clear the air on that.
I’m someone who will work WITH you, encourage you, and guide you to small, yet sustainable steps toward a healthy lifestyle. In other words, longevity is the goal.
DIETS DON’T WORK.. and for the record,
cleanses don’t either.
Sustainable, realistic lifestyle changes do.
How many times have you been on a diet in your lifetime?
“This time” you will lose that last ten pounds.
“This time” you will stick with it.
The cycle continues, and “this time” it will be different.
Are you tired of starting over?
STOP giving up.
STOP setting yourself up for failure with unrealistic expectations.
Diets have short-term goals that lead to short term results.
Lifestyle changes are what set you up for life, and THAT is my job.
It’s been a while since I’ve shared which insurance companies I participate with for 1:1 consultations.
Your insurance may cover your entire visit.
Yes, you read that right, I said that your visit with me could be FREE!
Depending on your plan, you may have several visits with a participating dietitian that you aren’t using!
Send me a message if you want to know the steps for contacting your insurance!

Happy Veteran’s Day (observance day) 🇺🇸 I’ll admit, I actually had my days messed up for a minute! Either way, I’ll just say Happy Veterans Day weekend🤍 I have had the luxury of working with so many veterans in my work, which became like family to me. You all are incredible, and are not celebrated nearly enough. Today and every day, we THANK YOU.
Gardening season has come to a close 🧺🥔🍂🍁 Proud of what I’ve been able to harvest this year with a little one in tow 🤍
Broccoli Food Facts 📑
Broccoli is one of my top 3 favorite vegetables! I love the crunch, but more than that I love how fiber-packed it is!
Did you know, that just ONE CUP of chopped broccoli meets 135% of your DV needs of Vitamin C??
[Stats are pulled from the USDA database]
You can enjoy this awesome veg cooked or raw, but evidence shows that the best way to eat these (and any vegetable for that matter) is to gently steam them! This way all of the nutrients aren’t lost by boiling, while also enhancing the antioxidant activity.
🥳🥳 My page has reached 300 followers! Thank you all for your continued love & support.. it means so much to me!
I will be back to full time status mid-September! Set up an appointment with me now to secure an early spot!
The most important thing to remember about breakfast, is making sure you are starting your day with protein! Whether it’s yogurt, eggs, a side of cottage cheese, nuts or seeds, a protein smoothie, or even peanut butter on your toast - anything helps! Starting your day with a solid protein source not only starts your day with substance, but helps keep you fuller longer 🙌🏼
Pictured is my favorite combo: Chobani “Less Sugar” Greek yogurt (Madagascar vanilla & cinnamon), KIND oats & honey granola, sliced strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries 🥣
