It’s so important to know your worth and make changes for your own good, even though often they can be hard.
You should be the most important person in your life, and find the balance of putting yourself first ❤️
Dance with me to this tune MONDAY 9th & 16th at ☀️💕🍉
For the last couple of weeks i was isolating with covid. I’m very lucky to have had it very very mild and be out the other side all clear. One thing I have been struggling with is tiredness or ‘brain fog’. To shake this off the other day I put one of my favourite artists on shuffle and had a dance party all to myself. When this song came on there was only one thing to do! ☔️💦💜 (Song rainin fellas!)
It’s important to hold on to the pure joy of moving, being grateful for what we have and what we can do and finding moments to follow our instincts and find little pockets of freedom for ourselves! 💜☔️
SPRING INTO SISTERHOOD CHALLENGE 🌻💖 have launched a new challenge to kick of sisterhood month at SOS. Read my story below ✨
I want to be grateful to younger me for part of my herstory which is about mental health and hard werk 🌥✨
For some people depression can be triggered by a big event or difficult change. For me it was a messy end of an intense & slightly unhealthy relationship. I started to have days where it felt like my brain would just stop working, and all I could do was just sit for hours, and I was so scared. I had no understanding of what was happening, not familiar or experiencing with these feelings before.
But during this time, I threw myself into work, continue to make art, take on new projects, and hold onto what I was good at. ✨ This didn’t make the low spells any easier, but it gave me a foundation and looking back, if I hadn’t worked through this and made the independent projects like theatre shows and taken on new challenges at that time I would 100000% not be where I am today, as I grew so much in that time, and added so much more to my catalogue of skills and work.
This isn’t how everyone would or should cope with a shift in mental health - but it’s how I did, and for me that’s super important because I had been criticised for being ‘too independent’, ‘working too hard’ or being ‘too ambitious’. If I had listened to those critiques, instead of pushing on with what I knew, I think I would have got lost in the low times. Through this I managed to slowly process and identify what happening, and in fact went on make several theatre productions about the stigma of mental health and mental illness and its an important part of my work and life to this day! All using skills and relationships I developed during that time. 💕✨
So I’d like to shoutout and nominate my ‘bluebell’ sisters 🌷(, , , ) and who continues to support, inspire and empower me as a fellow ambitious, hard werkin’ queen! 🦄👑
“I’m a mouse...duh”
