“These past two years on Council has shown me how lackluster communication, transparency, and obsolete practices has held back our progress as a growing community. Our residents see that. I get emails, texts, and calls about it all the time. They tell me all the time when I come to their homes. It’s frustrating how close-minded we have become, which is why we need a new structure. A structure that understands our need for growth in business, robust recreation, community outreach, and modernizing our public safety to meet the demands of a sustainable community. While traditionalist want to keep us isolated from the 21st century, you will find out that there will be consequences later on down the road. It’s better to confront, adapt, and have a healthy change rather than running from it. You can’t hide from it forever. I don’t want to hide from it. I’m ready to see this community become vibrant.”

We keep hearing our opponents talk about business growth all of a sudden. Well, Team RCRT already had a plan in place long before we stepped foot onto the streets. We’re ready to take action beginning January 1 with our business development plan:

✅ Review current planning, ideas, and objectives with Borough Planner and Steering Committee.

✅SWOT Analysis:
🔹Conduct a thorough SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis to assess the current state of the community's business environment.

✅ Business Outreach and Support:
🔹Create a local business outreach program to engage with existing businesses and understand their needs, challenges, and growth opportunities.

✅ Review Infrastructure and Zoning.

✅ Marketing and Promotion:
🔹Develop a coordinated marketing strategy with community relations coordinator to promote the community as a business-friendly location.

✅ Financial Incentives:
🔹Review, explore, and implement financial incentives, tax breaks, or subsidies for businesses that invest in the community.

✅ Regulatory Streamlining:
🔹Work with the borough government to streamline and simplify the permitting and licensing process for new and expanding businesses.

✅ Community Engagement and Collaboration:
🔹Involve the community through public forums, surveys, and open houses to gather input and build support for business development initiatives.

✅ Sustainability and Inclusivity:
🔹Prioritize sustainability and inclusivity in business development and integration of environmentally responsible practices.

Yesterday was a lot of fun!! We were assisted by these amazing young men who volunteered their time as camera man (Emmett Mares) & interviewer (Nick Horgan). Nick did a fantastic job not only door knocking with us, but also interviewing the candidates throughout the day, asking questions received from the community. Emmett loved being involved not only to share his filming talents, but also to see his mom putting in the work along side her teammates. Video will be released within the week... Stay tuned! 🎥💫💙👍🏼

Some might wonder what a small business owner like myself with no political experience would have to offer our borough council. As a business owner, I’m familiar with wearing many hats. Most are behind the scenes. From building a website, to marketing, scheduling, payroll, purchasing retail items and supplies, and staying on top of mandatory continuing education. You might even see me out washing my storefront windows or shoveling snow. However, my favorite and most important part of running my business is connecting with clients and addressing their needs.

My most cherished and protected role is being a wife and mother. Having been married to a Police Officer for 16 years, I’ve learned the importance of finding balance between letting go of what you can’t control while standing firm in your beliefs of what you hold sacred. Never blurring the line between right and wrong / good vs evil. A daily lesson we take seriously in parenting. During the inevitable and uncertain moments, it is my deep rooted faith that keeps me grounded.

If elected to council, I would proudly treat that role just as I do any other. I understand that creating change doesn’t happen over night. It takes hard work, communication, patience, and the willingness to learn new things. Knowing how well our council is equipped with a knowledgable staff is comforting and should be respectfully utilized in order to make educated & informed decisions in shaping the future of our Borough.
