So far I have catered a wedding for 90 and Wilde Realms LARP.
This weekend I am catering Tales LARP and then the following one I am playing a Scotsman at LT with the rest of Clan McGregor! Just have to bake several loaves of Breakfast Bread to sell at LT.

First 2 events done and dusted for the year, with 3 more on the horizon.
And the silly stickers may have gotten out of hand. For some reason i thought it would be a good idea to put cute and nerdy stickers on all the cups and bowls. Several hundred later.......
Yep that's right we are back in business!

Off to a Viking Longhall for an Empire Player event

Hello All!
It is with a sad heart that I am announcing that The Ratt Shakk will be shutting its doors. For now.
But this is for an exciting business opportunity that we are currently in the process of doing(super secret squirrel stuff right now). Once that business is strong enough that we can start cooking for you all once again we will be starting the burners for you lovely folk.
We want to thank every one that has trusted us to feed them and for nominating us for the LARP Awards for the last few years.
We love you all and will see you in the future!

Well that's a bu**er. Paid extra to ensure a delivery of wood for today and it has yet to leave the collection hub of Parcel Force. So no smoking food until next week now. Sad times.
After a bit of consideration I have ordered my first lot of wood chunks for the first experimental smoke. Blackthorn should be here on Fri.

With the end of the year in sight and only 1 more event to cater I want to say Thankyou once more.
I am waiting on some photos from a couple of events, from folk who know what they are doing and not just pointing a phone camera at something, and I will be doing a Photo History of this past year.

Fabulous day yesterday with Daniel Tucci of The Wooden Spoon. He drove from Reading to Skullduggery LARP in Kent to deliver his amazing bread trenchers for my Beef stew. Loved the combo and the collaboration with Daniel.
We were honored to be asked to do a collaboration with Tom from The Ratt Shakk at Skulldggery LARP today! Thanks for the invite, we had a blast cooking with you. Tom’s beef stew fit perfectly with our famous Trenchers! Bread bowls for the win!!! Thomas James Coxon
Midnight, 2 days before Ellie and John's Handfasting feast and the Minted Pearl Barley for the Arancini is done, and the last of the Beetroot and Red onion Tatin is out of the oven.

A Potted History
This thing started as Tom and Bea playing town NPCs Shake and Bake for The World Went Dark. “We went with the understanding that while we would help bring the town to life with offering food to the players and crew alike we would loss money. And we were fine with that as we just wanted to bring the world to life. Turns out people liked what we did and asked us back to the next event.”
The following year Skullduggery asked Tom to be the caterer as his character had just retired and the caterer they had decided not to continue. Seeing as Tom has been a chef for over 20 years and also loves LARP he jumped at the chance.
From there The Ratt Shakk has been to Apocalypticus Road to Ruin festival as well as several other LARPs. And we want that to continue.
