Meeting of the Minds Fantasy Football League

We have a decision that will have to be made by the league as a whole.

With the current state of the Bills/Bengals game - suspended due to the life-threatening injury to Damar Hamlin in the game Monday night - the possibility exists that the game will not be completed at all. Therefore, we have four options.

ONE - Coming into the game, Multiple Scorgasms had a slight lead over Show Me Your TDs. We can strike the Bills/Bengals game from the record and declare the winner as Scorgasms.

TWO - Show Me actually had an active player in the game who scored enough points in the limited time it was played to pass Scorgasms for the lead. We can accept that this is going to be the end of the game at this point and Show Me is the winner.

THREE - we can wait until the NFL actually decides what to do with the game, whether it will be played, and accept their decisions at that point.

FOUR - declare co-champions for 2022 and award both Scorgasms and TDs an equal share of the final pool (would total $112.50 for both teams).

Please indicate in the comments, through our page on NFL.com, or through a private message to me, which option you prefer. In particular, I am interested in the comments of Todd and Eric, who were the two who were competing for the championship.

It was a great season, everyone...unfortunately it has ended in a truly tragic situation. I'll be back to issue the official ruling on this and to let you know what we will be doing for next season, which will be our fifth season.

It has all come down to this...

After a bruising regular season, the Meeting of the Minds Super Bowl championship is upon us. In a twist, we had TWO upsets in the playoff round to set up our championship battle.

In our Championship Game, Show Me Your TDs will square off against Multiple Scorgasms after both teams upset the top two seeds, Hoosier Fantasy and Tampa Rebellion. While the Fantasy and the Rebellion will play for the $25 consolation prize, TDs and Scorgasms will battle it out for $135 for the eventual champion and $90 for the runner-up.

Hello owners!

TWO DAYS until the draft for the fourth season of the Meeting of the Minds takes place!

We will be drafting at 8PM on Friday, so make sure you have your drinks, snacks, and draft materials in front of you at that time. If there's support, we might even go Facebook Live with each other!

It is also time to get your fees in for the league. $25 for the entire season, with the money breaking down like this:

1st - $168.75
2nd - 56.25
3rd - $25 (get your money back for next season!)

Will we have a repeat champion? Will the trend continue that we have NEVER had a two-time champion? Looking forward to getting the season started!

Hello owners!

We are less than a week from the draft for the fourth season of the Meeting of the Minds!

This upcoming Friday at 8PM (EDT), the draft will take place. There was some discussion of moving it to after Labor Day, but we couldn't find a date that worked for everyone...thus, Friday (9/2) it is! I certainly hope that everyone can make it live!

Finally, we are going to make a slight change this year. The champion of the league will get the lion's share of the prize pool ($25 per player, $250 total) and second will get a good chunk. In a change this year, the THIRD-PLACE team will receive their buy-in back ($25). Thought that you should get something for winning your final game of the year in the Championship Bracket.

With that set up, let's get ready to draft! Maybe a Facebook Live session for the owners to draft to on Friday night? See everyone then!

First, apologies for not being as attentive to the page as I should. Will do better next year!

Most importantly, the champion of the Meeting of the Minds Super Bowl III has been crowned! It came down to the top two teams this year, the Acrimonious Appletinis (David Hodson) taking on the SA Jackalopes (Jason Lawson) for the championship. Dominating as he had through much of the season, the Appletinis were able to claim the title by a dominant 1159.6-110.2 edge.

Congratulations to both the Appletinis and the Jackalopes!

Thank you all for another exciting year. Going to be mulling some changes to the league for 2022 (we may be saying goodbye to the Fins and Margaritas Divisions), unless we get some more players to join the league. If you know anyone who would like to play next season, just let me know. Otherwise, let's have a great 2022 and come together once again when the FOURTH season of the Meeting of the Minds kicks back in this fall!

The NFL season is around the corner and we are going to run another season of "The Meeting of the Minds!"

Same rules as last year, $25 to get into the league, and we'll figure out how it pays out after the season starts. It will be Hoosier Fantasy defending the title this year!

Hello all and a Happy New Year!

In the excitement of the holiday, I forgot to issue the congratulations to the two teams who made the Meeting of the Minds Super Bowl II!

Fighting their way into the playoffs as the #4 seed, Hoosier Fantasy rode two strong weekends to take down the title and stop a potential dynasty in Multiple Scoregasms! Hoosier Fantasy will take home the $150 top prize and, this year, Multiple Scoregasms will just have to settle for the second place prize of $50!

Thank you to you all who played this year! Congratulations to Jen and Hoosier Fantasy and we look forward to seeing you again when we come around in August for the start of the third season of the Meeting of the Minds!

WELCOME TO WEEK 4!

And we have our first COVID postponement, fans!

The Pittsburgh/Tennessee game has been postponed this week because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Here's the problem: they really haven't said what effect this will have on the scoring of this week's games. We'll have to keep an eye on this...

Second, a couple of people have yet to get their $25 in. I'm not going to nag you, just a reminder. We'll also make a final decision on how the payout will go by next week, too...so far, paying out like last year (75/25) is leading the way.

Finally, get ready for a magical 10-game winning streak by the Renegades that will deliver them to the playoffs and the eventual championship of the Meeting of the Minds!!!!

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!

Don't forget, tomorrow night is the first game of the season - Houston Texans vs. Kansas City Chiefs. If you've got players from those teams you want to get in, you'd better do it!!

OK, to take up some league business here:

A. We need to decide how to break up the prize pool. Once everyone pays, we will have $200 up for grabs. How do we divvy it up? We could do it one of a few ways:

1) A 75/25 split - Champion gets $150, second place gets $50

2) Flatten it out a bit - Champion gets $125, second gets $75

3) Something for the "best record" - Champion gets $125, second gets $50 and the team with the best record ( #1 seed) gets their $25 back.

4) I could also entertain the "Doomsday" Option - a winner-take-all setting. That would have to be by a UNANIMOUS vote, however.

The draft for the Meeting of the Minds is set for Sunday, September 6 at 9PM (Eastern Time). If anyone has a problem with the time, we can look at another time to hold the draft.

Second, anyone know potential players to get in the league? As previously stated, we've got five teams that have said they want to play this year. If we cannot get at least eight players, then there might not be a league this year. Ask your friends and let them join the fun here!

We are a couple of weeks from the start of the football season and so far I've only got three teams that have said they are going to play this season. I need some replies, fellow owners! Are we going to play this season?

Right now, the NFL is going to be going forward with the season. I am going to reach out to you through the league website as well, but who is ready to come back again this year? Who wants to raise the stakes? Lower them? Let me know what you think here!

Congratulations to Multiple Scorgasms (Eric) for a well-fought victory in the Meeting of the Minds Super Bowl I over the Nefarious Pickle Juicers (Dave). The Scorgasms take home the $187.50 first place prize and the Pickle Juicers will have to satisfy themselves with 62.50 for their runner up finish.

Once again, owners, thank YOU for a great season. Will be in touch again come June/July next season to get the league rolling again! Until then, a Happy New Year to you all and the best wishes for 2020!

First off, thanks to ALL of you for an excellent season! I hope you all had some fun with this and, when July 2020 rolls around, that you're ready to go for another season of fantasy football. One thing though? How about a bit more trash talking in 2020! LOL!
